My computer has been randomly bluescreening recently, and I have no idea what's causing it. Some programs like Steam or AIM won't start, either. It gives me information about it but I don't know what any of it means. Anyone think they can help? Here's the problem report:
Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen

Locale ID: 1033
Additional information about the problem:

BCP4: FFFFF8A009231C16
OS Version: 6_1_7600

C:\Windows\Minidump\121810-36488-01.dmp
C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-229617-0.sysdata.xmlHere's a link (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2QD39VQH) to the the dmp file incase its needed. The xml file it shows doesn't seem to exist in that directory, and I have hidden files\folders set to be shown.

Run the latest MalwareBytes and see what it comes up with. Also, post a a HijackThis log.

I thought BSOD's were almost always hardware related, what would that have to do with anything?
Run a memory and HDD test from your BIOS or a linux disc if your BIOS doesnt have that.

I should also mention that programs that do work tend to freeze a lot, mostly Firefox and explorer. Sometimes it'll just freeze for about 5 minutes and then go to bluescreen. Steam also used to work while this was going on, but now it doesn't. WMP doesn't start either.

reinstall windows.... if that don't work a piece of hardware may be taking a shit.

I'm positive it's a hardware fail. My 6 year-old computer keeps making clicking noises then goes to memory dumping screens, along with a few blue screens occasionally. Also make sure your area isn't dusty.

That sounds like a bad HDD.

So I still haven't figured out what this is yet, but its most likely hardware related. I was reinstalling Steam to see if that would temporarily let me use it, and it kept having a problem deleting a couple files when uninstalling it. Kept saying something about an I/O device error, error code 0x8007045D. I don't really know what to do at this point, I just got this computer a month and a half ago, so it'd be pretty dumb if a piece of hardware is failing already.

Yep that's a hard drive error. Since it's a new store bought you should just be able to call and ask for a replacement.

Early this month I had to reimage my computer due to a recurring BSOD issue. There's is nothing wrong with the hardware in my laptop. Just one of the TAs at my school got their computer infected and uploaded a Physics file to the class folder. I downloaded this file and opened it during the lab session which started to fuck with my computer. I simply booted up Ubuntu, backed my shit up and got them to reimage it in 2 hours. IT service is cool when it's quick. Point is, don't assume it's hardware based failure if you get a BSOD.
