Why hide the start orb? There are so many cool ones out there, not to mention it's really easy to make your own.

I like the look of just a line of icons; like a dock but still with all the functionality of the superbar. Note that I also hid my show desktop button. It's about just displaying what I care about and hiding what I don't (desktop icons for example).

all my other shots had anime content in it. You just didn't notice. I turned off all the aero shit because it's slow and distracting. And I never have enough programs open to justify removing the program titles. So I enabled them.

It's just your machine that's slow. It's distracting because it's noticeably slow. Program titles enabled is fine, though. I have about half my taskbar taken up by application icons (1680x1050) so there's not much room for full names, but that doesn't matter since I know the icon for each program.
