Don't blame me, blame the management running this site for "upgrading" to a newer version of vB, the software which has a bigger problem sitting still than a seven year old with ADHD who also just found out the wonders three shots of espresso can do.

Easy solution, upload images to an image host instead of a proprietary attachment...

Easy solution, test upgrades in the modacity sandbox before rolling out into a production environment...

Really warlord? Testing an entire forum system in a sandbox installation vs uploading an image to an image host.

One takes hours, possibly days. The other takes four clicks, a few keystrokes, and half a second to upload.

And is just totally out of my way, vs. locally hosting a couple kb file...

Isn't software usually testing done before it is laid out for everyone to use rather than after and then having to take everything back down?

Generally in a vB-based site the thing to do is copy the whole site/database and then upgrade that. Then you deal with all the fixes and changes and shit, and then apply the update and changes to the live board.

Upgrading and fixing the "sandbox" board takes forever, doing it twice takes even longer. I don't think TheGhost bothered with a sandbox upgrade, that's why all the fixes are happening here "live".

But what I meant was that the sandbox forum should have been upgraded to see what all broke and whether it was worth the time to even fix what got broke. Because it's vB. It breaks itself.

Isn't that what I said? It just didn't happen.
