Halomods is reopening! (http://www.halomods.com/ips/index.php?/page/index.html/_/articles/halomods-fire-for-effect-r9)
While the site is still being worked on (modding is srs bsns), we'd like to get users on board to not only help with the direction but also hopefully help with content. Our online community is IP.Board based, so we support forums, blogs, downloads, content, tutorials, etc.
If you're interested in Halo modding, check out our opening statement (http://www.halomods.com/ips/index.php?/page/index.html/_/articles/halomods-fire-for-effect-r9), sign up and enter the user lounge (http://www.halomods.com/ips/index.php?/forum/7-false/), etc.
We're currently just a two man operation right now (as detailed in the opening statement) but we're always looking to bring aboard quality help to produce and manage site content faster (especially if you're wiki savvy!).

Yeah, really needs the old database and such, otherwise Modacity vs. HaloMods.

All of the Halomods downloads are actually available here: http://files.modacity.net/halomods/files/
p0lar was working on a PHP sort/search page at one time IIRC, but I don't think anything came of it.

Well look at this
I'm still retired but mabye I'll start writing some particle tuts, reupload ASCM up to this database, etc.
I am curious as to how you plan to get the momentum rolling. Last I checked, the amount of people still into HCE mods who posess any remote skill or talent are either living here, teh lag, or long gone to bigger things. Are there a bunch of people in hiding that I don't know of?

HaloCE isn't the only thing in the halo modding scene, so yeah, there are a bunch of people (but not really in hiding).
Content is key. Only limiting factor in that is the time needed to develop it. However, we didn't want to continue to keep the doors locked while we worked on adding new or transferring content.

They had some documentation on reworked.com. I used some of what they posted, and did some of my own interpretations. We haven't finished adding them all yet, so we're not handing them out currently.

I got something resembling somewhere with it, but right now it's buried in a virtual machine which is buried on my computer which is buried under a chaise lounge and bookshelf and TV in a storage unit. :v:
Would like to finish it sometime and give it to both of you, tbh.

Since we have the forum db and the original files, it'd be nice to just get a readonly phpBB3 forum up with all the posts and files.

When you say "All", do you really mean all of the mods ever? Like, pre-Xavier stuff even?
...my cadillac warthog I made when I was 13?

Odd, I started a thread in the Projects section and it vanished. My post count is still 1 though. Do prefixes have to do with this?

I'm so glad to hear this! Halomods was the other website I first visited to start HCE! It'll be funny seeing all of the Jackal wielding Sniper Rifle and Gauntlet pics on the front page again (it's a joke for those who remember is was always on the front page).

I'm trying to give it another chance, but the site's plagued with faggots again (most of the old Halomods users, not the Modhalo/Modacity users). I wish we got the users like Ketchup Bomb.

I liked a good amount of the old halomods crew. I, for one, am happy they came back.

I hate my generation, not because they're mean, I like mean people, but they stand for everything that I think is wrong. Perhaps I'm just too judgmental.
Edit: I was just creating the same old bullshit that made me angry towards them in the first place. I should just move on.

Plagued with faggots? Haven't had any issues so far (at least, no one has really complained), and I personally keep out of Off Topic/The Studio.

I would love to have a read at the old posts! Just noticed http://old.halomods.com/forums/index.php
Was Xavier related to the tsunami back in 2004? I can't remember it clearly.
I do know I read about someone passing away. Or am I wrong?
