Been about two months since I've posted... Geez. Anyways, I just got a MacBook Pro for school from my folks and have been hearing about ways to run Windows apps on them. Now there are only a couple apps I would like to run on my laptop, such as my Project 64 emulator since I can't bring the console with me to Colorado... I have been hearing about an app such as CrossOver. Does it actually work? Is there anything better than it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I used cross over for a time, but it felt rather clunky so I switched to Parallels Desktop 6. Works great. You can use the virtual windows machine as a whole other OS or you can choose specific programs that you install into the VM to integrate into OS X. Apps generally work smoother in Parallels because it's emulating the windows environment directly. The only thing is that you have to have an extra Windows license to install in Parallels. CrossOver doesn't require this. I just visited CrossOver's new website and they added some new features that look to be more convenient for a person who uses few windows apps. One click windows app install sounds good.

However, Project 64 got a Silver Rating rather than Gold on the compatibility list: http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=1929

I don't know if I want to risk that. CrossOver is cheaper than Parallels, but not everything is guaranteed to run. Check the compatibility list for everything you think you'll use. If you think crossover is good enough, get that.
