I couldn't talk about this before, but it looks like they released a little video going over some of the basic stuff:

"The more you control in co-op the better your single player ending will be"

They're dumb.

From the sound of it if you basically complete all co-op missions you'll have an almost perfect ending. Not my cup of T, I'd have rather seen it as a completely seperate mode...and frankly would have prefered pure SP either way.

This might be cool. The one issue I see is for people who want to play co-op, but also want the worst ending possible. For them, it would be nice to be able to disable the link. Maybe you pick which Sheperd's story the co-op missions impact. In that case, you can just have a junk SP campaign tied to MP.

And like they said, this is a completely different development team, in a completely different building, in a completely different city, using money and resources that would not be allocated to ME3 if this mode did not exist. I don't see the harm.

Online co-op: cool

integrating it into SP in ANY way: GAY

You guys need to chillax a bit, they've already said that you can get a perfect ending in single player without doing any multiplayer. Using multiplayer is optional but not required.

Yeah, I can vouch that almost everything you get from co-op you can get through pure SP.

It's the fact that it has any bearing at all that I can't stand. Multiplayer should be completely seperate.

Simple. Don't play co-op? Experience not ruined.

What?
Not playing an OPTIONAL game type because it may not suit your tastes is a bad idea?
Either play it or don't.

This post makes no sense at all. Please stop trying to argue with me, you're really bad at it.

Do elaborate.

Why should I have to avoid playing it just so I don't mess with my single player experience? Why can't single player and co-op use seperate save files like every other game out there? Granted, I could make a seperate character just to play co-op with, but that just overcomplicates things.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still buying the shit out of this game, already have the collector edition pre-ordered. I just don't see why they're taking risks with decisions like this at the last stage in the trilogy.

Oh you mean that if you even touch co-op your SP progress is affected for good or worse? Fuck that. Nope.avi. DO NOT WANT. But wait, ME has always given us multiple save slots. Just save your Co-Op in one slot and SP in another. Problem solved. Or am I ignorant of something here?

But can we play as the Hanar?

The whole idea just seems completely unnecessary and dumb and I can't see any good reason for it.

That's my whole complaint.

The co-op is just another route you can take to get a certain outcome for your ending. You don't have to do it, and you can still get the same ending by playing SP only.

What is your problem guys?

It isn't integrated. It's another branch on the tree of selections through any BioWare game. They literally added more features, that don't effect the person who wants to play SP only in any way, and yet you're already complaining.

I guess if you haven't played it, it's kind of hard to explain.

Pooky

I'm not really complaining, I just don't see any point to needing to create another profile to play co-op so I don't affect my SP.

I already said I'm buying the game, what's your point? I don't get people who complain about complaints as if bitching about bitching is any better. If everyone just posted "Cool, I like" to every announcement made, there would be no discussion.

Cortexian

...

You don't need to create a new profile just to play SP. Play your SP, you can do the co-op after you finish your play-through.

Pooky
October 16th, 2011, 07:17 AM
That's still unnecessary. :|

What if I want to play co-op BEFORE I finish my SP?

Amit

Which is why there are multiple save slots.

Then do it while your SP is on progress, you can likely change any story issues the co-op will make in SP after the fact. I haven't tried that yet though, and I'm not even sure it's available yet so who knows.
