They most likely switch the Elites to Heretics.

^ thats what im thinking. in terms of scenarios in .map files, earlier maps would have all the grunts, brutes, elites, etc... on the covenant team in the scripting. later levels would have the elites set to whatever team the player is on, not heretic. heretics are for those elites with no armor that really like carbines.

No, I mean during the Covenant level where it's you, marines, elites, and Covenant teams.

Brutes, Jackals, Drones and some Grunts are on the Prophet team.
Master Chief is on Player team.
Marines are on Human team.
