I don't take anything like that seriously. Same with the MTV movie awards and all of that jazz. It's all mainstream mouthoff shit.

Spike trolls if you guys didn't know. And all the idiots bitching about how BF3 had more user votes than MW3, they need to read this little tidbit before they run off flaming the web:

http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h262/amit9821/Capture-27.png

And it didn't win Game of the Year, it won Best Shooter.

I bet more than half that audience don't play video games.

But I did cry of joy that Legend of Zelda is in the Hall of Fame. c':

Halo 1 should have been voted the best game of the year

The original, not Anniversary :mech2:

Arkham City should have won it. This is bullshit.

Wow, well at least we now know who and where all of the dumb people are.

I'm surprised BF3 didn't win. Then again, that takes more than half a brain, so I guess it makes sense why it feel short. Same applies for HCEA, though I suppose an equivalent to this would be if HCEA won Best Cinematics, Best Technology, or Best HD Remake.

Pooky
December 11th, 2011, 12:53 AM
Well, though I do like Halo Anniversary it would have been pretty insulting if a straight remake won FPS of the year.

Oh I know, I would've voted Serious Sam 3 as Shooter of the Year, and Portal 2 as game of the year. I'm just saying that at least MW3 didn't win GOTY.

Amit
December 11th, 2011, 01:24 AM
MW3 wasn't even in the running for GOTY. OMG imagine if it was and it won? We'd been seeing GOTY this and this from Activision everywhere. GOTY edition game, GOTY edition controller, GOTY edition XBAX, GOTY edition soul.

Due to the lack of actual improvements and change, MW3 might as well be a remake.

Sadly, people are too wussy to buy or play a survival horror game...Sucks for them though because when the zombie apocalypse comes around, they will be fucked.

The ONLY reason I played through that game(and the first) was for a girl. That shit was freakin' scary. AMAZING set pieces, but there is no way in hell I'm ever replaying either of those games.

I don't understand how anyone can get that scared in a survival horror game; then again, this is coming from the guy who refuses to play Dead Space (3rd Person plus horror for me equals uncontrollable sobbing from terror and frustration). Are you even armed with any weapons in Amnesia?

BobtheGreatII

I would recommend playing the first 3 games they came out with before playing amnesia. Gives you a feel for what's coming your way. And to get your scared on.

also no you have no weapons in amnesia. deadspace is a startler. shit jumps out at you, but theres rarely sustained fear. amnesia messes with your head. you see the thing running around, so you turn the light off and sit there, but now you can barely see it until it actually hits you, at which point you get a reaction like the guy in that video. maybe not QUITE so bad, but you get the idea.

also, for all you nay sayers that think a weapon makes the game less scary,

Doom 1 and 2 still scare the shit out of me sometimes. I've cleared out the entire map of enemies, but I can still hear something. A roar. No matter where I go the loudness never increases or decreases, making me think that it's following me, but I just can't find it.

There's also the first sewer you have to trek through in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I had to just keep reloading saves until the bloodsucker failed to spawn, letting me move on because I just couldn't kill it. I unloaded EVERYTHING in to the thing and it never went down. Not to mention that thing that follows you at the end and pulls the camera right up to its pitch black face, and keeps doing it until it kills you. I haven't even attempted to go through another sewer until I can get my hands on the best armor/weapons possible, and a shitload of bandages/medkits.

Lol the Flood still scare me sometimes. It used to keep me from progressing in Halo and Halo 2 for the longest time. Also by far the worst dream characters I've ever had.

Flood is more scary when it's in your dreams, more so when your brain decides to fuck you over and make the flood look like friends you known and different shit breh. Dreams + Flood isn't a good combo. Noooooope now I'm going to bed so pray I don't have some nightmares with flood or necromorphs.

Human infected flood scared me more because basically...Its human characteristics. Everything other form was not that scary, except a few times when carrier forms would hide behind corners, charge at you without your notice, and explode.

flood ain't scary ;\

yep that's pretty much it

Flood were scary at precisely one moment, and that was the first time the big red blob appeared on the radar in H1, before you knew what was coming. After that you know that you can just shoot up everything and then it's just another enemy, except they're dumber and more annoying than the Covie

(also both Dead Space 1 and 2 are not scary at all hth)

Shooting up? Smoking? I always snort the Flood. Get me a little bump of infection form to start the day.

By the way, the Dead Space 1 flamer was a piece of crap, but they fixed it in DS2 by adding knockback to keep burning enemies from getting right on top of you. H3 flamethrower ain't got no knockback...

Sentinel Walls (is it bad I only remember the internal name?) and the High Charity level from Halo 2 were probably the most scary Flood levels. 343 guilty spark was pretty ridiculous too.

Sacred Icon, Quarantine Zone at times (it was more intense action-wise), High Charity, Flood Gate, and Cortana all did a fantastic job at providing an authentic and scary environment. However, I started with The Oracle level, which considering that level is when I first met the Flood, it set a very scary disposition towards them. For those of you not catching on, the Flood actually sounded scary in Halo 2 to add to their already monstrous movements in Halo 1. If anything, the Flood from Halo 2 remind me of the Rage Zombies in 28 Days Later. Halo 3's Flood, however, are something of a spectacle that I admire, mainly because they fulfill their roles so damn well aesthetically. This, thankfully, takes away from the fear in Halo 3, but I did notice that Halo 3 fights against the Flood are far less "HOLYSHITDAMMITDAMMITDAMMITGTFO" and are simply more intense combat-and-environment-wise than the others. Still, Oracle and High Charity are probably my favorite Flood levels.
