So I plan on making some dumbbell handles because the 14in spinlock ones can only fit 60ibs (10ibsx6) for each handle.

So my question is: What would the best type of steel tubing or rod type be if I wanted to put up a max of 150ibs per dumbbell? The handles are going to be 24in in length if that factors into the equation.

What's the diameter of the handle? Average adjustable dumbbells come with a 1" diameter handle.

If you've gotten everything figured out, I'd check out Discount Steel's Steel Tube and Pipe (http://www.discountsteel.com/items/Steel_Tube_Pipe.cfm) page.
Drawn over mandrel (http://www.discountsteel.com/items/DrawnOverMandrel_DOM_Steel_Round_Tube.cfm) steel pipe might be your best bet. If you are going to select a size, be sure of the values in the dropdown menu.
The first number is your diameter in inches. The second number is the thickness of the wall.
Don't worry, they can cut it down to the size you need before they ship it.

I hope I helped.

150lbs per dumbbell? Damn, that's heavier than I am.

Mostly in the future when I'm stronger. Its mainly for squats. My goal is to get to 190ibs and squat 1.5x of my weight (Which is around 300ibs).
