HaloCE won't run on Windows 8

hey guys, I recently installed windows 8 consumer preview over windows 7 and now Halo CE or Halo or run. please if any one can find a solution to fix this I will really appreciate it. it gives me the following error. http://s18.postimage.org/7fxucm9j9/haloerror.jpg (http://postimage.org/image/7fxucm9j9/)

Install DirextX.

You can actually get that error even when you have DX9 installed. Make sure it's a clean install of CE, with no third party modifications running.

i have directx 11 installed though i still get the error
and it won't let me install DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer cuz its 9.0 and im on directx 11

... what's the error it is giving when you try to install DirectX End-User Runtime...
and just because you have 11 doesn't mean it will stop you from downloading 9.0 because I have 9.0.

Halo CE runs on 9.0 it doesn't utilize directX 10 nor does it utilize 11 so if you don't have 9.0 installed you are going to get that error.

it tells me that i have directx 11 and therefor i can not continue the installation and it ends.
