Halo 2 on Steam?!?!
Earlier today steam has added the first 3 Halo games on their database as Valve Test Applications. What is even weirder is that they added Halo 3?

Update!
We have sent the message to bs angel posted here (http://www.modacity.net/forums/showthread.php?25027-Details-on-H2V-s-current-status&p=642382&viewfull=1#post642382). She has replied back saying thank you for the information it will be very helpful in our investigation. (Investigation for what?!)
Also more good news! The Petition has reach over 1000 unique signatures! keep it up guys our next goal is 1,500! Even more good news! If you haven't signed yet go sign (https://www.change.org/petitions/343-industries-keep-halo-2-pc-online) now!
Even more good news! We have been tracking players that have been playing the game since January 23, 2013 to prove to Microsoft that more than 20 players play the game. We have also sent this information to bs angel as well. If you want to help out please visit here (http://kantanomo.com/saveh2v/) to download the program to run while you play. Currently there has been 747 UNIQUE players that have played within the last week :)

Based off of this post (https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postsm2182274_NEWS--The-Halo-Bulletin--1-16-13.aspx#post2182274) at the halowaypoint forums we were contacted about the 25,827 players that were in the screenshot. The servers admins sent us the complete list which we are sending to bs angel tomorrow.

On this site we have developed a simple app that logs players details as you play games with them in H2V, we are doing this to show that more than 20 people play the game. We are sending this information along with the list of 25,827 players that have played in those servers in the year 2012. We started logging players January 23rd, 2013. Also by clicking on the petition button, you can sign the petition to help get 343i's attention some more. Our goal is 1000 signatures. If you want to help us out please feel free to sign the petition and spread the word.
Call to Microsoft representative
We have also called Microsoft and spoken to many people about our cause for saving the browser list functionality for Halo 2 PC. One of the representatives we spoke to mentioned some very interesting information. He said that, "you will still be able to sign into live and the quick match feature of the game will still be affective." This makes us assume that we can still host LIVE based servers or custom games and join them either through quick match, invite, or joining through other players. Also he said if the decision doesn't change that Microsoft will not "care" what the community does with the game. He subliminally suggested that if the community where to make their own browser list etc, that Microsoft would not penalize them. He did not give us any information on the current status of the decision but did tell us some important information.

I signed it. H2V may be a steaming pile of shit, but this is the once last chance to get it noticed. If by some act of God that the decision is changed in any way for the better, it'll be because we showed the support and it may even get some proper attention by MS or 343i.

Exactly, they gave us so little back in 2007; throwing us even the smallest bone now would go a long ways. If we can get up to 1,000+ signatures at least we can show that while small there are definitely enough players to be considered a community.
Then they can release the fully unlocked H2EK and H2CE finally happens...!..Yeah thats not likely, but I can dream. xD

If we get 1000 signatures for H2V and they still ignore us, that's embarrassing considering AoEIII can barely keep 900 on at any time.

Our message to BSangel
Hey Jessica. I'm getting back to you with the information you requested. Here (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AsHWkphpWRg6dFF3ZWVpNWtiNl9VR2MzeERGalh1b kE) is the link to the complete list that the server administrators of WeirdMoose.net have graciously given to us. The list has been formatted to a format that is easy to read as well as verified to make sure when transferring the information to google docs, that it was 100 percent correct. (we figured you didn't want to read a simple text file) I hope this will help you compare the information that you need.
Also Kantanomo, iSupersniper and myself have started another little data collecting project that has been tracking players that play the game since January 23, 2013. You can read more about it, and look at the number of players that have played since that starting date at this (http://kantanomo.com/saveh2v/) site. It explains how we are tracking the data and how many unique players have been playing the game since January 23, 2013.
Here is some information that will help you better understand what the tables mean.
* The PC Identifier is a byte array that Games for Windows LIVE assigns computers when they install the game located in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\XLive\.
* The PC Account is a byte array that Games for Windows LIVE assigns when a player first enters a LIVE access key and signs into ther profile. It then generates a tokin.bin and config.bin file that is linked to the PC Account Located in C:\Users\-username-\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Xlive\Titles\4D53080F\.
* The IP Address stores is the last known IP address that is associated to the player that joined.
Thank you for taking your time to contact us and everyone in the Halo 2 PC Community thanks you for it. We all wish for the best and look forward to any more updates reguarding the matter.

Right so the Illuminati clue points to the New World Order (or the NWO), which points to the World Wrestling Federation (or the WWF).
Now which former US President is a member of the Carlyle Group and in turn part of the Illuminati? That would be Bush Senior.
So who was a famous wrestler during Pres. Bush Sr.'s rein of terror? Hulk Hogan, and there is your password: Hulkamaniacs

Guys I was thinking, maybe all we need to get this game to rise again is a simple Xlinkai/Xbslink client for it, that besides running the application it can patch in real time several quirks the game has like vehicle sight acceleration issues, patch the XboxLive part and use the LAN to show custom game servers.
Also some of us actually want to keep playing this game, so if we could invalidate the whole CD-key issue id be great too.

You could probably throw all of the patches in the world at it and it'd never gain traction.

We've (H2MT) been working towards a more custom and open release of H2PC. At a minimum it would include many additional custom maps and an enhanced version of the modified D3D9.DLL exploit which allows a user to play on maps with restricted custom content. A modified Main Menu to allow an alternate way of loading restricted custom maps. It would also include approved mods and real-time tools (such as Ambiguous) that could potentially sync with a central server(s) to allow mods such as sky modifications visible to all players. It could also include some custom campaign maps, though that depends on a few other factors right now.
The main channel of distribution would be by .torrent file.
The server list and product activation are the main hurdles but those are being looked over as well.
While I would like to see this project reach completion I also question its value in regards to so few players as of late. If we can easily get around the server list/LAN/Live issues then I will see more effort put into into it.

Imo sounds good, but really I know this isn't the place to discuss what I want to say.
the release should be a halo 2 portable (no buggy xlive or installer)with included hax's that simply fix the gameplay issues with keyboard/mouse and have a custom game browser
This would be like the halo 1 portable editions that are VERY popular now a days, and maybe we can get back to actually playing good games of halo 2.
