Fuck this game for PC.

Fuck Rocksteady

But most importantly, fuck you fucking MS and your shitty fucking G4WL bullshit.

If you have yet to get this game, don't get it for the PC. Whatever you do, do not get it for the PC. Get it for the 360 or PS3, but nothing which runs an actual Windows OS.

Or you will end up like me, having played the game for ~3hrs, only to not have your game save actually save because apparently you need to be logged into G4WL for that shit to even happen. No fucking warning. No fucking "hey man, better log into gay for windows if you want the next few hours to amount to anything". There are at least two threads in the first page of Steam's community forums for AC essentially asking where their save is. You'd fucking think with people getting confused they would hack some bullshit into their Unreal cockfest of an engine that prompts you with a "Better call Saul login to G4WL!". Hell, I know of a good place where they could do it too. They could replace nvidia's bullshit splash screen with the goddamn message.

Rocksteady will never get another dime from me. The tossers doing the prequel won't get a dime for me. The Xbox One Eighty won't get a dime from me. I already own a goddamn 360, so there's no point in saying that won't ever get another dime out of me, because it will. With GTA5. Unless they do a PC port soon after. That isn't fucking G4WL like goddamn #4 is.

Note: I enjoyed and beat this game on 360 back when it came out.

Well shit, this was one of the games I was going to try to grab during the summer sale. Thanks for the heads up.

Your welcome. It appears I had it lucky too. There were others who invested more time into their first play throughs (before closing the game), only to find their progress wiped clean after starting back up. Then there are others who were using G4WL, but their bullshit fucking game save encryption key changed for one reason or another and rendered their old games inoperable.

Fuck. That. Noise.

Microsoft can't do games, or game systems.

God damnit. I specifically checked for this shit before I bought it on steam too. Just checked the store page again. Steam says it has securom, but makes no mention of GFWL whatsoever.
I just found this (http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=129864779), which might help. Haven't tested it myself yet.

Well, at least GFWL is being wound down, supposedly.

Got a 360 copy yesterday at gamestop. Went to get a used copy, and while they had the cases out for it, they didn't have any used copies. But they did have GOTY copies for 19$. I didn't realize it was a brand new copy until I got home. So Rocksteady ended up getting yet another dime out of me after all. I am disappoint ;_;

Same game, different platform, void of the major issue at hand.

That sucks. At least with Fallout 3's G4WL you could save offline, even though those saves wouldn't be available when you logged in (thus you wouldnt get achievements unless you got them logged in). Even then you could just move the save files in that offline folder to the G4WL logged in folder so they too are accessible when you login. Have changes been made since to Arkham City's website page on Steam about this?

Nope

Pretty sure it's up to Unsteady to update the page too

I've played both on the 360 and on the PC, and the 360 version is better/more intuitive because of the controller anyways. Unless you play with a controller on your PC pretty often, just stick with the console version.

You read the part about how your saves will be lost in transfer, correct? Even though they're fucking stored locally.

Someone explain that to me?

You could have gotten around these issues if you had just pirated the game :v:

Perhaps they have to make alterations to the file format to make the move and they can't be bothered making some tool to do it.

Save files are mutilated by GFWL...I thought we covered this already?
