Finally got some semi-decent shaders working.
Medium draft radiosity, so excuse the discoloration. Other than the missing scenery, it's pretty much done. Spot the hidden item in the last picture, win cookies. It does actually work too.
Now stop pestering me to post this, Dr. D:

Looks great. Healthpack is nice, doesn't mean much unless you disabled recharging health. Oh, and top of bases are :X, can't wait to see it with the real shaders.

Yeah just change the textures into Halo 2 style textures. It's cool that it's the same layout, but it should also look better.

Actually you should just make the spawns right on top of each other so when the game starts, there is already a Tower :o

maybe near the plasma turrets (down a touch though) to shoot up to the bridges/ledge half way across the map. wouldnt work too well, but danger canyon doesnt lend itself to mancannons...

Little update. Better shaders and I started population of scenery objects. Ignore the no-shader trees/bushes. :p
I also made the sky almost exactly the same as the original counterpart, with direction, fog color, and the like. It truly "feels" like Bloodgulch while you play it.
Edit: I also know the weapon spawns aren't correct. I just tossed them in there last minute.

I am using the original textures.
;) The shaders just make them look so much better. (Except the base floors have a bumpmap now, instead of just a detail map)
Edit: Anyone know how to get the map preview bitmap to work? No matter what I do, it never seems to show up in the main menu.

Map shots are displayed when the level is selected in Halo 2. They are a representative screenshot taken somewhere in the level selected. You can add a map shot to your level with Sapien.
To create a map shot
In Sapien, open your level.
Position the camera in the Game Window, and then press ALT+PRTSCRN to take a screenshot.
The screenshot is placed on the Windows clipboard and can now be made into a map shot with any graphics program that supports an alpha channel.
For best results, maximize the Game Window when taking map shots.
To create a professional looking map shot, use the mapshot_template.tif template provided in the tools directory. The template is 220 x 207 pixels with a single pixel light blue border and an alpha channel. Crop your screenshot to fit within the template border, and then flatten the image and save it as a 32-bit .tif file in the data\ui\global_bitmaps\map_shots folder.
Before your map shot will appear in game you need to convert it to a .bitmap file with Halo 2 Tool. Map shots should be placed in the tags\ui\game_bitmaps\mapshots folder of your level. For details on how to convert the file, see the Import Bitmaps (http://www.h2vista.net/forums/ImportBitmaps.html) section.
When you first convert your map shot, you will get an error because the file is not in the right format. To fix the error, open the new .bitmap file in Halo 2 Guerilla, and then change the Type to interface bitmaps and the Format to 32-bit color. Save the .bitmap, and then convert your original image again. It should now compile correctly.
To assign the map shot to your level, open the scenario in Guerilla, and then scroll down to the Level Data header. In the Multiplayer section, you’ll see an entry for bitmap. Click Browse to assign your map shot to the level. Save the scenario and recompile the level to see your map shot in the game.

Anyways, I also tried to make a map preview picture - it was exatly like Nitro's that he made for example.map. I compiled it with my map, referenced in the scenario, but it didn't show up ingame.

Same here, however before that "update" it would show that random H2 logo with the circuits behind it. Now it doesn't even show that. Same with Nitro's custom maps that I downloaded. I'm attempting to re-reference them now in the UI folder.
I just compiled his example map, and even that doesn't show up?

That's the problem, you place it wrong. The ring should be perpendicular to the map so it doesn't look that big at any angle

Lightning, I've been playing with those map shots a lot. And no luck here. I've noted the example map doesn't even get an image even though it's referenced in the Scenario. Just as my maps are.

FriedMetroid: You obviously don't know that we cannot make new skyboxes for Halo 2. Skyboxes are from a model and various other tags. We can make a .sky tag to change coloring. But me must use the premade skies given.
Please do not be so critical about simple conversion. Lightning's using the Coagulation sky.

Its actually the H2 healthpack....
I dont know if any of you wer einto H2Xbox modding, but you could add spawns to the shared map files and it was a no-shader map with every object from the game. The healthpack was there.

Things to be improved:
Bump maps on cliffs :P If the ones I gave ya don't look any good, just use the coag cliff ones, and make the height on them lol xtreme. It should tile just as much as the actual cliff texture should too, in exactly the same way, it's just the cliff texture made into a bump map pretty much :P
Moar polies on cliffs pl0x, make them better, the sharpness of them makes the lighting on the cliffs look wierd.
Base map, make it blend with the cliffs a bit better, i know it's bungies one, but It can be a bit better, possibly just darken the cliff texture a bit and that might do it, even.
and decoraters :P Lots of little pokey upey grass would be sick
other than that :awesome:

The effing decorator brush isn't working right D: I tried for like, two hours to get it to work.

And yes, we've tried Hamachi.
So after this, I'm going back to CE, atleast until this issue gets sorted.

Change the left click brush radius to 10 on the decorator brush, and just move while holding down the left mouse button a lot. It shows up in game, not sapien D:

I dunno. I find that the geometry needs a little shapening up here and there to atleast fit in with the halo 2 theme. Right now, it's far too jagged.
Other than that, good job! Alot of people (especially the competitive community) are going to love you for this.

no, dont give them the original gulch rock bitmaps. Give the rocks the same bitmap the cliffs have. So they blend into the ground and change the base map slightly where the rocks are. It'll look more win.

Wrooonng. Give them Gray rock Textures, if you have to. The original Rock Textures from Blood Gulch will be Awesome. Would look more original and keep it classic ;)

I just have an issue with the top of the cliffs. Their jagged edges make them look too low-poly.

At least that's what it looks like.
The only way for anyone to get in is if they get invited to go in, and someone has to be in it, unless the LIVE account that's used in the dedi can send out invites.

Users trying to connect to a Dedicated server on Live that is on their own network are not allowed to do so.

you should put my gamer tag on there ;) i'll make sure its working for you :P...but yea...i tried to do the same thing and it wont let you connect to a server that you are hosting from your computer.

From what I understand is you cannot be sharing the same IP address with a dedicated host. Too many risks involved.
