ok so my lil bro has h2v, but the load times are SOOO long that by the time he gets into the game, its pretty much over....
he gets to the lobby, joins it, and it does the load screen, back and forth like 5 or 6 times..., then the screen goes blank for like a minute, then the blue screens pop up saying setting up game, and shit like that.
takes at least 5 minutes to get into a game, and then when the game ends, it has to do all that same loading over again just to get out of the game...
here are his specs, which i know arent that great, but it shouldn't be like this.
(once in the game, the game runs very smooth with high quality and everything)
Athlon 64 3400+ 2.2GHz
SAPPHIRE Radeon X1650PRO 256MB
CORSAIR 512MB RAM
any ideas?

It's most likely his RAM. I have 512MB of RAM too and get slow load times.

It is, I can't believe he as only 512 mb of it. Isn't it required for Vista that you have 1gb? If not, then it is supposed to be for H2V. At any rate, he needs to get at least 512 mb more...

hmmm
ill get him another stick of ram.
putting in a 256mb flash drive for readyboost, seemed to help a little bit.

RAM is cheap, if youre going to buy him some you should add at least another 1GB.

1 is good. 512 MB is defiently not enough, thats how much vista takes up.

Your keyboard; you seem to be missing a few keys.
Also, your processor is outdated and will have trouble running both Vista and H2V. Get a new motherboard, then a Core 2 Duo or an AMD Athlon 64 X2 - They're cheap now. Your RAM seems sufficient, but I'm sure you'd benefit from another Gigabyte if you plan to play games such as Crysis or UT2007. Your graphics card will handle H2V, but badly. Currently I'd just get a good DX9 card such as an X1950XT and wait for the GeForce 8800s to go down in price, but if your budget stretches to it, an 8800 is the best option.
