like in halo ce i know that
!: was for render only
^: was for climbing a certain material
-: was for breakable glass
%: was for double sided; glass
$: was for fog
are these rules the same for halo 2?

Some are the same but a lot have changed, like % is now for instanced geometry.

) -- Precise "not be fiddled with on BSP pass"
> -- Conveyor Belt
< -- 1 way portal
| -- Door portal, attached to device machine state
~ -- Portal (Portal visibility is completely blocked)
( -- Dislikes photons
{ -- Ignored by lightmapper (not add it to raytracing)
} -- Portal which blocks sound -- like AI deafening by for players too.
