Should this be in the tech talk forum? If so, please move, admins.
So I got around to buying Halo 2 Vista, and I installed it. Turns out I had an old graphics driver, so I updated to the latest driver for the GeForce 7900 GS which was just released yesterday. Then I play the game, and first annoyance is some garbage on the screen- about 50 or so pixels on the 1920x1200 monitor were just random colors. I'd had that problem before on games on XP, and I figured it was just because the driver on XP was old and I haven't gotten around to updating yet, but now I'm wondering if it's a hardware issue.
But that's okay, I can put up with random pixel colors because in fast paced gameplay it's virtually impossible to notice. What gets me is that about every 30 seconds, the sound stops and the screen goes black, which lasts about 5 seconds. Then the screen plays the last 5 seconds back in fast forward and the game resumes. This happens about 10 times, then the game quits and Windows Vista reports that Halo 2 Vista broke (can't remember the error message specifically).
/sigh. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I couldn't find it on Google, but maybe I'm searching for the wrong thing.
Also, I seem to be stuck in long-post mode. Somebody please kindly slap me so I can go back to sentences.
