I've been following the Multiplayer Level Design tutorials in the Halo 2 Map Editor help files, but I'm getting a stupid error at Tutorial 4: Placing Spawn points Using Halo 2 Sapien. When I try to open the .scenario file that I just made from the .ass file, it loads for a while then gives me this:

"This file is corrupt and cannot be loaded. H2Sapien will now shut down."

I should also note that when I export .max files to .ass in 3DS Max (I'm using Max 8, by the way), it doesn't give me a dialog box after I export it like the help file says it should.

Does anyone know how to make it work?

Did you do your lightmaps? It seems to give a corruption error if you haven't.

I just did the lightmap thing, but it still gives the same error when I try to open it. :(

Open your .scenario and see if it's referencing the lightmaps - one time my scenario wasn't, and fixing the bad reference made Sapien accept it.

I have the same problem. I have been trying to figure it out all weekend. One thing I noticed is that when I compile the .ass file it gives me two WARNINGS.

The first is something to do with a duplicate shader collection name "shared" in: c:\program files\halo 2 map editor\tags\scenarios\shaders\shader_collections.s hader_collections

The second is this: found an override for shader 'scenarios/shaders\forerunner\industrial\metals\flat_light_sc ratchy' from collection 'f_im' (scenarios\shaders\forerunner\industrial\metals)

Then when I try to open in Sapien I get the corrput file error.

Anyone know the solution to this problem?

When I try to open Sapien... it opens... shows it trying to load, then closes, without any warnings or anything, just abruptly closes.

Compile and Light the map instead of just of just compiling it, it worked for me.
