I decided, after a day of individual studys, to go out and hunt for my problem. On the web!

I've definately found many interesting things, but I don't know if I should post my full problem until I get home. Well I will, because that would make this a waste of space.

Problem: Tool created a directory that it, and Windows Explorer, cannot find.

Interesting: All my programs can find the directory.

Conclusion: The new stripped Tool, sucks.

So does anyone have a clue why it can't find a directory it created? I keep trying to light the level and compile it, but all it does is compile it, then say it can't find the "directory\'scenario-name'.scenario" when it trys to light it.

Down to UAC and Vista's security measures, and the lack of testings on hired guns part of the tools they modified.

This may or may not be the cause of your problem but Vista will redirect copies of certain files that you change to what it calls it's virtual store. It's part of the User Account Control feature and is meant to create a protected user environment where changes can be made without screwing up anything important. Unfortunately some programs just don't work right with it so I'd recommend disabling UAC. It will make working the the editing kit much simpler and less frustrating.

Ahh, wow. I feel like an idiot now. And here I thought I was the only one with that problem. It only happened to one map too.

So I'll fix UAC later with my digital tin-snips.

Better to disable UAC sooner, because it will start happening with all the files generated by tool and other programs. In experience, if you wait too late, you can lose a lot of files not meant to be lost D:

Lightning, I found women.

Anyways, I just have been testing instancing in Halo 2, and to be honest.

I LOVE IT.

It's the best thing that happened to Halo.
