Freezes When Installing Update

When I try to recover my Live profile, it asks me to apply an update. WHen the update progression bar reaches the end, the window turns gray and the game freezes. It does this everytime. What should I do?

Try updating with the stand alone installer. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/games/halo2/, click on support, and you should see a link for the update.

I downloaded the update file from the microsoft site, now how do I install I it? It's a .dle extension, what program do use to install it?

Just for your reference, though, you downloaded the plugin for 3ds Max 8. It's the fixed exporter.
