Let me just start off by saying that I am 17 years old and have been looking at the forums for a few weeks now. Finally got the time to join and stuff. In a few hours I will be going to get Vista and Halo 2 Hopefully.

Now here our the few questions.

1. When I get Vista(probably just basic) can I dual boot my computer and should I or is Vista stable enough to run like World of Warcraft and most everything?

2. Here are my computer specs:

Pentium 4 HT Processor clocked to 3.3ghz
1.5GH of Ram
Nvidia Geforce 5900Fx(something to that effect)

I know everything is good except the Graphic card. I will be getting a new one in about a month but will I still be able to run Halo 2 on this one on the lowest settings?

If I think Of anymore questions I will post

Thank you for your help

I really don't think your graphics card will cut it. :( Vista should be able to run mostly everything, just make sure you have up to date drivers and such.

Lowest settings might work on that card, but that's a pretty big might. :v

Wow, on that card, low might just barely run at 20 fps, more likely lower. Get a new one, and it should be ok.

You need at least a geforce 6100 inorder to run halo 2 vista. Even that i would recomend in the 7/8 series.

I'd set up a dual boot. Vista has a lot of bugs still and you might miss some of the features of XP.

Here, you can test your PC specs for any decently popular game!

get AT LEAST another 512mb of ram (~$15-20), and get a new card, the 7900 is relativly cheap at newegg.com (~$130).

My computer is like 4 years old now. So I cannot use any PCIe cards. I will be buying a AGP 7900 card in a few weeks.

I would get another 512 but all my slots are filled?

I could replace the 2 256mb slots with 1gb chips and have like 3gb of ram.

My computer runs H2V with only 2 gb ram, and an ATI Radeon x1300 gfx card.
But I wouldn't suggest getting it, Turning on anti-aliasing on any game and it lags like a bitch...

gotta ask, so you even have, or ever tried vista?

1.5 gb is plenty, dont make it sound like he needs it desperately.
