stupid alert-STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY- :(

i have just purchased halo 2 and after being impressed by the play while installing option, i was blind to the numerous problems which people seem to be having with it. After installing it with the play option, i found out that there was some sort of bug with it, so i deleted halo 2 and started anew. separatly installing it. i thought this would be the end of my troubles, but no, now i cant play more thn five seconds (timed it :) sadly, i know) withought it crashing and minimizing, leaving a black window and i nice little flashy bar telling me "Halo2 vista has stopped working correctly, gathering more information about the problem". i have looked at other peoples posts about this problem, and i have tried the, "turn off AA, reinstall correctly and change your screen resolution" but to no avail.

my graphics card is the nvidia 7950 series
pentium D dual core 3.4 MHz
1g memory
vista buisness

PLEASE someone help, i am so anxious to play it, and i realy want to find a fix.

Do you mean Pentium D Dual Core 3.4 GHz, 1 GB memory, and Vista Business?

i have the reason y this wasnt working, for me, it was because my sound card was not properlly installed, try this out if you have the same problem

Try going to the halo 2 app. and going into the properties. Next Go to compatibility. On the bottom there's an option to run as administrator always. to the left or right of that is a box. Click on the box to make it checked. Click apply and close the window.

^^That worked for EVERY issue that i had with any program on windows vista. I have slightly similar specs but i have 2 gb of RAM which I personally recommend for anything with vista.
