I'm currently in the process of buying a laptop and would like to know if Halo 2 would run on these specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 / 1.66 GHz

RAM: DDR II SDRAM 2 GB

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS

I know the requirements for the game state a 2 GHz processor, but does the Core 2 feature help at all?

Thanks~

Yeah, its fine. You'll probably be able to manage 800x600 on medium or so, but it works...

Clockspeed aside, that CPU is pretty weak. As InnerGoat suggests, dont expect high preformance out of it.

i'm running on a laptop, duo core 2 2.16 ghz, 2 gigs of ram, and 7900 GS, i can run on full graphics and max res no problem.

Hell, I have a $500 dollar Dell laptop and I can run it on 800x600 on low. You'll do fine with that.

The CPU is fine mine runs really smoothly on low :)

its fine as long as your CPU can clock up to atleast 3 ghz, oh and if you dont know singleplayer runs at really bad frame rate

It is not "weak."

3ghz? What is wrong with you? My current laptop is sort of the same (T5200 1.6ghz, 2gigs DDR2 266, and a geforce go 7600) runs h2v 1024x768 high settings 4xAA at 20-30 fps. I really don't think the processor requirement should be taken seriously as H2V relies heavily on the gpu.

the GPU is udder crap. MAYBE you can run it on low ~30 FPS

8400 GS is weak but better than nothing.

Just ignore the above quote please.

Your C2D at 1.66Ghz is loads faster then the A64 3200+ in my other system, and that can keep H2V above 60 fps easily.

I run H2V just fine on my MacBook Pro (17inch edition)

I just got an anti virus and it went up 5fps, now I play at amazing speeds of 34 fps in low.... well its better than nothing.
