If it doesn't already have some kind of carrying handle it could use one I guess.

Also a rail on the front so you can attach some heatshielding if it's necessary.

I'm guessing the traditional method of using MGs. You can fire it when standing/running but its very inaccurate or crouch/deploy that tripod and the accuracies increased for the cost of mobility.
