...lol?
You can still see my snow on the texture. D:
Also, the fact you have the shaders switched on the entire wheel section doesn't help much..

It needs less stealage of other peoples' wheels. It's not like those tread pods would be hard to model either.

Further proof of my point that the tread pods are a joke to model, making ripping pointless :
http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/6505/trackhogjh0.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
It took me all of about 15 minutes to model those. My steps :
-Create a Spline triangle in the main shape.
-Convert to Poly
-Chamfer+move verts to get the smoothed-out edges.
-Extrude out.
-Cap the open end created by extruding the poly.
-Extrude all faces except the 2 side polies by "local normal"
-Select the 2 side polies, extrude in.
-Select the faces on the outside, bevel out by "local normal" to get a slightly raised and inset look.
-Apply UV mapping (using planar for each "segment" of 3 polies that make up the tread surface) and stich together the edges using the "stitch selected" tool in the UVW interface.
I doubt skinning the non-treads would take more than a matter of a few hours.
(For those wondering, the main chassis of the Hog in that render is the one WoL did for CMT.)

Actually thats not your hog model. I rebuilt the hog model from the warthog. the treads how ever were swapped in from the snowhog. I never at any point said i customly built the treads from scratch. Yes it is really quite easy to model them. If you ask smash i built a snowhog model almost 2 years ago and scrathed it due to yours. He may still have the model i sent him. Anyways, my only ploy here was to gain credit for some new snow version hogs coming out. Theres 3 new vehicle models 2 of which are almost complete. Thanks for responding? Jeez guys.....
@wave of lag:
If i was to release it i would certianly give credit to you. Wasn't meaning to offend you. If any was taken then sorry.

Symetry modifier and slice tool would make it even quicker, But seeing how i was studying vehicles and how they was made, I simply examined the tags made from snowhog to see how the suspension was constructed....ie masspoints, values, marker sets. Isnt that why you review tags anyways, so we all can learn from them. The fact that i used them was mearly to cut corners and just use them for now.

Ok, good point. I had originally put that in there for a light bar i was going to put in. Now looking at it, your right it needs to go.

I guess i did better than a snowhog with turret deleted and tracks put on.
Im not asking anybody here how much better they are or can be. I posted this becuase it was my first vehicle to make work. Not using already setup tags. <(Nothing about model pieces so plz) I came here posting thinking there was a type of intelligence here for modders trying to give back into halo something. I find the lack of respect appalling (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=appalling&spell=1) , please step down off them high horse your riding.

Looking good Toob's.
I see that some people here have a common misconception on what this modder is doing, from what i can see he is working on a set of warthogs that will be used in a variety of maps sure he's using a place holder as of this moment but why complain in the very least its not another "super dooper whooper jet/banshee" hybrid.
what ive seen coming along look quite promising so would it be so much to ask that the harsh comments are left out for the time being?

i kno alot of everyone here already will strongly disagree with me... but they make a very good point about how CE completely changed halo modding from the way it was, with requiring massive intelligence to comprehend (meta tags, hex editing and all of that crazy stuff). To being all about how good you are at 3d modeling, tagging has been kind of thrown back into the dark, the way everything is now, its all visual... who knows mb his tags are good and clean and he built them from the ground up and are unique. (Physics, animations, and the rest of it).
Of course this doesnt condone him taking the snowhog wheels, which are incredibly simple to make, tbh he shuddah left them out if he wanted to be taken more seriously, and instead showed us physically what he changed to make his tags unique from the warthogs tags.
So yeah, this is an invitation, I'm asking you to wow us by posting a comparision of how your tags are unique and better than the origional warthogs. Otherwise all we have is your word and an ingame video, which we cant really tell from.
thus why everone judges you by what they see, you didn't show them anything but just that, the visuals, which you just stated wasn't what you were concentrating on changing, so show us what you did change/make.
EDIT: Tbh it doesn't look like you did much of a whole lot different then the hog even if the tags are from scratch, it seems to drive a bit faster and hug the ground more then the hog, thats about it, physics wise. Also same seats, same gun/weapon. Its all the same. So your mod arguement kind of fails to change our minds. Maybe if you made it have the ability to press a button and pull a wheely, or press a button and be able to do massive drifting (slide really far and stuff) or even make it have boost (been done)... then id call it a mod, this is just a minor physics and model tweak to me atm, plus some stolen wheels.

Those are great ideas (grabs notepad) Ok, you want a comlete remodel from bottom end up then i shall provide. BTW, this was my first vehicle to actually get into game rebuilding all the collisions, physics, animations, and some model modification. Making them compile and actually work. Im just a bit excited about it actually working at all. At the same time it has given me a great understanding in the creation of vehicles and compiling and setting the tags up. Then after getting that hog into map i made a jeep comanche not completely modeled but into map. With this new knowledge i can model a new bottoms up vehicle and rig it properly and know what about my model is going to be important. Note to snowhog maker, I will change the tracks to my own style. I only had an attraction to them cuz they resembled Mattracks. Im a avid 4x4 offroader and though that those were L33T. Sorry for any disrespect that you got from any of this. Peace guys http://halomapping.com/phpbb2/images/smiles/rambo.gif

No you did not, because that is what the Bungie concept looked like, the model that actually exists in the CE community is accurate and correct.
