Yea, I need daemon tools so I can mount my images, but it seems everyone I try from there site says that "This platform is not supported." Anyone know why? Or better yet how I can get it to work?

Thanks :3

Ok, I downloaded both versions of Dtools from here:
http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5

And each time I try to run either the x64 or the x86 (I have no Idea if my Vista is 64bit or 32bit so I tried both) I get this:

Why that happens is beyond me, but I really don't like it.

Actually, no thats not much of a hint. why would it not work if I've tried both versions on this install of Vista

EDIT: It seems the links on the Daemon tools website are incorrect. Even though you click the x86 version it downloads the x64 version. I found a mirror on google : http://www.etplanet.com/download/details.php?file=1792

That version gives me an error when I try to open it after installation, saying that it needs an operating system later than Windows 2000 or something. Oh, and it gave me some adware, too.

EDIT: Nevermind, the error was from the boot-up after installation method. I opened it normally and it worked. And the adware was for the search bar so they make some money off of it.

Yea, it asks you if you want to install it. I told it "No!"...

It says 64-bit in the image.

So either you have 64-bit or you downloaded the 64-bit version :confused2:

Yea Pat, their site only has links to a 64bit one, even though one link said it was 32bit. So even though I thought I was getting 32bit, I was getting 64 bit. So I went to google to track down the right version and I found it.

I've used Alcohol longer than Daemon Tools but I found that Daemon tools worked much better. I downloaded Daemon tools directly off of their website for my 32-Bit Vista Ultimate...I've had no problems installing or using it.

There's a problem with daemon tools and vista. There's some things you need to do before it'll work.

How about compatibility tab? Right Click - Properties - Compatibility - Run in compatibility mode for windows XP.

That could work...it seems to fix a few problems with other applications I have.

Ugh, guys are you not reading at all?

Daemon tools and Vista work just fine together. The problem was that the links on the download page are fucked for the 32bit edition, even though it says X86(32bit) it really points you to a x64 download. That was the problem. I solved it.

Oh a side note, Alcohol120% blows kthx

Yeah Alcohol 120%, ftw!

I love it!
Although sometimes I gotta use Daemon, too. :(

Fuck Alcohol, it toots with my system and tries to open up my .rar files.

Reasons for Fail:
And the last version I tried had this damn icon down by my clock, that was a complete turn off for me.
Tries to open .rar files? WTFAnd I can close the icon for daemon tools.
Imo Alcohol has no features worth "having" therefore I declare it "waste o' space"
