I converted the CPC fan from the Deathsauer and hooked it up to the back of my PC. I'm just that awesome.

9- Front of case, back of case, side of case, one on my 7950 GT KO, one on my nForce 680i SLI heatsink, 3 on my 680W PSU, and one on my (P4 2.8Ghz) processor (the worst part of my PC, upgrading to a C2Quad Q6600 by the end of the year). Oh and 2 heat spreading coolers on 2 of my 4 1Gig sticks of DDR2 667Mhz RAM.

Atty

I can't count that many, being Pro at the internet has gained myself the respect of millions of Internt users, and my :awesome: PC has their respect as well, only a tool of supreme win and epic :awesome: could handle my :awesome:ness.

Also, Two 120's, Two 90's, and a 250cm. A 120 PSU and whatever the 8800 uses and a 92 on the CPU.

My old shuttle that I dont use much anymore has a 120 on the heatpipes cooling the CPU and whatever's on the 9800 AIW. My notebook, who knows. I dont feel like opening it up. I do know that the memory has passive cooling. Very bad passive cooling at that.

I don't use a fan. I have an insulated air vent that goes all the way from my computer to the Swiss Alps. The ice-cold air cools my computer phenomenally.

The new case alone I will be ordering for my new PC will have 8 fans, 4x 120mm (on the side), 2x 120mm on the back, 1x 120mm on the front, and 1x 80mm on the top.
http://images10.newegg.com/NeweggImage/productimage/11-146-029-17.jpg
after I add the CPU fan, 2x graphics card fans, plus the 2 fans on the motherboard, my new computer will have 13 fans total.

Two. One at the front, and one at the back. The one at the front sucks in air and the one at the back blows it out.

6 fans total:
2x 80mm side-by-side on the front.
1x 120mm on the back (it's the internal water cooling fan for the CPU).
1x 80mm on the side.
1x 120mm on the PSU.
1x w/e the 8800 GTX uses.

legionaire45

2 120 mm fans in front on my radiator, one 120mm in the way back, one 80 pulling air over my HDDs, one 120 in my PSU, another 80 in my PSU, and I'm assuming a 60 or something on my 7600 GT. It's a stock cooler. One 40mm on my northbridge.

The 2 120mm fans on my rad and the one in the back are going to be replaced with my 140 CFM beasts when I get a chance. I forgot what the CFM on the 80mm bringing air over my HDDs is, but it'll be replaced with something much much better then the crappy thermaltake fans my case came with.

Four fans, soon to be five.

Dr Nick

the question is how many fans does your PC have, rather than how many your CASE has.

I don't, phase changing. Or water cooling without a fan, just a big ass radiator.

Or possibly that fucked up weird method of cooling your PC via Vegetable Oil or Mineral Oil:

Freelancer, thats the most disgusting and wasteful way to cool your pc..

Also, it can probably stick up some components and whatnot. Good luck replacing things. I've heard of alternatives to energy but this is just ridiculous.

Did I say it was a competent solution? No.

Anyhow, I may try this on an old computer, mineral oil though, I don't no funky smells.

The oil will eventually seep through and get into the plugs, causing them to not receive any of whatever data/energy is being transmitted. I don't know about the oils conductivity but I'm sure its not healthy, a good thing to try if your bored.

120mm for PSU, 120mm, in the front, 120mm in the back, 60mm on Videocard, 92mm on CPU, 50mm on NB, 40mm on South Bridge.

So roughly 7 fans :D

The oil will eventually seep through and get into the plugs capacitors, causing them to not receive any of whatever data/energy is being transmitted causing them to pop. I don't know about the oils conductivity (Mineral and Vegetable oil are non conductive, hence why they don't short out your system) but I'm sure its not healthy, a good thing to try if your bored.
ftfy.

Using Mineral or Vegetable Oil as a coolant is a dumb idea. Period.

I also forgot to mention I made a cooling base for my laptop out of a cardboard box and 3 fans from old computers.

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z11/jahrain00/IMG_0007.jpg
http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z11/jahrain00/IMG_0004.jpg

I know its hideously big and ugly, and its put together with tape and chewing gum, but this manages to cool my laptop down about an average of 15C cooler. It plugs into an AC adapter, and that nob on the back controls the fan speed. I built it with what ever I could find laying around in my room, and had no real design plan to it as I just made it up as I go along. The fans were placed to push air up into air vents in various areas underneath the laptop.

I am so doing that ounce I trash this old piece of shit computer and get my laptop. Which will essentially be a portable desktop..........yay bulkiness and 1 hour battery life!

jahrain
August 22nd, 2007, 09:49 PM
It actually works better than one I purchased for $44 which was only able to cool my laptop down up to about 5 or 6C cooler. With that base I build, I can even overclock my GPU and CPU and it still stays cool.

1x120mm rear case fan
1x120mm (?) CPU cooler fan
1x~55mm GPU fan
