my serial is not valid? please help me

i recently bought halo 2 vista from bestbuy, and when i installed it and tried to put in the serial, it says the serial is not valid. my brother and i have tried several times and it is not a miss type or anything. i called microsoft and they said that the cant help me and to buy a new copy. does anyone have a serial i can use, i herd you can use a serial three times. please pm me if you do, i wont have enough money to buy it for a long time because my alowence is only 5 dollars a month and my parents wont let me get a job. Also just in case you are telling the truth, then reinstall... But I know you are not telling the truth because I was installing Shadowrun and my key wouldn't work. I gave them the key and said it was right... If the key was no existent(in there systems) than they would have made me one.
