Halo CE problem

I have a fresh install of CE, and I run the shortcut on my desktop to open CE. CE gives me the loading screen, and then I hear the music from the menu, but my screen still shows the loading screen. I can hit the up and down arrows just like in the menu, but I have no visual.
I have already tried:

Reinstall

Running HaloUpdate.exe and THEN:
Extracting the Vista Patch

Any more ideas?

install xp as a second OS. since vista fails. and i have solid proof if anyone wants it ;).

btw xp install cds are not hard to get and dont take long tooset up so thats not a exuse.

Turn off Anti-Aliasing if you have it forced on in your graphic card's settings, that happened to me when I turned it on, I use XP, as a note.
