Uh, looks like there's a new h2v update. I hope it's not some crap that doesn't do anything.
~km00 says~
Its not a "h2v" update, its a Games for Windows LIVE update. That is all.

It is. The only thing it does is fix all those live errors. It connects to the lobby much quicker then displaying -Not avalible-.

lame. that long to fix an error as small as that?

Of course, they wouldn't go ahead and mandate a fix for any game-breaking bugs like multishotting, or that random invincibility glitch. Nah, let's just make sure that the bloated, useless LIVE service remains in top shape for the people who actually think it's a good service to force on PC users.

Here are some changes...
The Windows live banner is now blue
Network information is now available, ip , port no etc
Voice threshold added (handy, no excuse for heavy breathing)
Plus some minor fixes
Yep, only for live. Now we're waiting for a real Halo 2 update.

The new threshold thing they added will cause problems IMO. If people have Mic Boost on, then the threshold may never turn off. :(

MS is probably caught up to their eyeballs in dealing with the RROD issue with the xbox360 as a primary focus of resources, and just releasing this update for the purpose of saying "We are committed to the development and progression of games for windows live."

The update was for Games for Windows - LIVE, which means it also affected Shadowrun, it is not a title specific update. We'll have more to say about a title update soon.

Well, I take that back, as that's comforting to hear that it wasn't a title update. Though I don't actually own the game, I try to pay attention to what's going on so I can help out as needed, and to see when some of the issues with the game are fixed. With all of the problems people hare having here, and with the problems I personally had playing Halo 2 on the XBox, I don't have much incentive to upgrade and go out and buy the game.

I talked to KP about that ages ago.
Point is, it's a port.
Xbox had button glitches too.
I didn't realize bandwagoning was more on par with a plague than a social movement on this forum. Christ.

That's not an excuse to neglect software and leave known bugs untouched, especially bugs that make half of the userbase bitch. You're either providing support, which means attempts at fixing reported bugs, or you're not, which you state as such.
I didn't realize bandwagoning was more on par with a plague than a social movement on this forum. Christ.
I didn't realize having a personal opinion based on previous experiences with the title that just so happened to match up with the opinions of a few thousand others meant that I was "bandwagoning".

I love the game halo 2, even though the bugs and port issues still exist but G4WL just ruins the experience in too many ways, which is an almost unanimous opinion on this forum. Its not bandwagoning, since this general opinion is coming mostly actual users who are angered with the pointless, intrusive and forced service, not nay-sayers and trolls who never used it just hating it because the general public does.

What I'm really hoping for is an update that fixes the still terrible mouse acceleration, and the fact that you have to stand still to crouch, even if using a gamepad. Better performance wouldn't hurt, either.

here here, but I don't think that'd happen any time soon, the Hate-Stealth bandwagon will not stop until I "Stealth" stop it, or leave "forever" I for one like the game and would like to help make it a better place, and I'm doing just that very slowly.

Not really. It was a re-skin of the LIVE logo, and a couple other LIVE features got "fixed".
The game didn't get better at all. And you you ask me, neither did LIVE.

Posts like that are the reason why there [was] a "Hate Stealth" bandwagon. If you wouldn't bring this crap up, people wouldn't be reminded of it and would forget about it.

Okay then, one feature out of zero that needed improvement improved upon. Negative one to go.
Zero bugs fixed out of about 500. Only about 500 to go.
Zero useless, bloated services removed from Halo 2 out of one that needs to be removed. One to go.
I'll be grateful for the updates if they fix the most prominent, disruptive problems at hand instead of going off on random tangents and improving on features that don't really need improving in the first place.
Be angry somewhere else.
Be a tool somewhere else.

Personally, I didn't notice any difference in the time (either that, or it is just too minor to really notice). Any number of this can be causing you to be getting into servers faster, though. Hell, it could even be completely mental, with you just thinking it is faster because there was an update. Still, I'm not completely sure on this.
They didn't "fix" anything, either. They added some minor, who-gives-a-shit features to the LIVE service which do not affect the game at all.
Be angry somewhere else.
I'm pretty sure there really is no better place than here. Sorry.

jcap and p0lar_bear are definitely wrong. I mean, come on guys, all the color changes and the banner edit makes everything SO much faster. I bet the color changes made the game faster too! I mean, it wasn't an update for H2V, but I bet it did anyways! Is it not obvious?! I mean, come on, they wouldn't update just to change looks, right?!
God help anyone who took that mess seriously...
