Fix the shader problem before releasing. I'm sure someone here would be able to assist you

Start with modeling weapons, then work on a map.
Also, the quote in your sig is something more to the effect of this: "92% of Teens listen to Rap music. If you are part of the 8% that listen to real music, copy and paste this in your sig."

One problem u can't make models for h2v cause if u do H2EK will lock first of all so there is no point for modeling weapons.

Did I say to put them ingame?

Gross... :(
I'm sorry , but even I can't think of anything constructive about this one... that's the worst map I've ever seen. Keep trying.

Legionaire, what makes you think that he should start off learning to modeling by creating such a complex object? Before I ever made a weapon, I learned to make simple bases and buildings. When I got to my first gun, I modeled the hell out of that thing. (for a noob) I think he would be better off starting slow. Kindergardeners don't take algebra do they?

:P The first gun model I made sucked too, but that's how I first plane modelled.
Anyways it looks like you are following firedragon's tutorial on creating a canyon map? I would plane model the buildings first and then build the cliffs around it.

I don't understand why people plane model buildings. I've always found primitive modeling to be just fine. (for "normal" building without complex curves and stuff)
I think I'm going to make a video tutorial. Not with voice though, because thats to much work...

Why would you think people would enjoy looking at this? It is impossible to see any good in the map, fix the textures and run lighting on at least low, not checkerboard.

All of the modeling schools I've looked into teach cinema quality modeling before they teach game modeling. Sure they have a "Basics of <modeling program>" course that you probably just play with primitives and modifiers in... but.. they then move on to the big guns right away. I trust their teaching method.... learn how to model a complex item (gun) before attempting a map.

Cinema quality is easy. You don't have to attach anything, objects can intersect, you don't have to worry about the poly count....
Just a thought.

right, there aren't any rules, but... fuck in H2V you can pretty much do the same thing with instancing.... sure it's improper but it works...
I was takling more about the detail anyhow lol

Good, I see that it attracts attention. That is what I was hoping for.
Expect more hardcore porn the next time someone posts something like this map D=.
And my reasoning for posting the gun tutorials is because guns require a bit of thought and preparation if you want them to look good (well, for me anyway. I'll sometimes stare at a weapon for up to a half hour to figure out how all the shit on it works). You need to know how the different areas and "levels" of the gun connect and affect each other. Once you can model something as simple (or challenging, I guess) as a weapon well, you can move on and play around with making maps (preferably not sucky ones) and such. At least thats worked out for me (sort of).

Primitives = fail when you want to add any decent detail to a building. Start with a plane, create vertices, place them how they are needed, then create faces using said vertices, and now you have a nice detailed building. It's so much more precise that way, and it keeps you away from using boolean.

Only dumbasses would use boolean for such a task. No offense dude, but I haven't seen anything impressive come from you. What makes you think thats the best way? Every artist has his/her own preference, it doesn't mean their techniques are superior/inferior to others. It's all about the end result, and how log it takes you to get there. It doesn't matter how it's made, as long as it's made correctly. (and with little wasted time)

oh GOD, is this beyond help? my superhero light above my monitor didn't go off for this thread! :(
hold on tight, this is gonna get rough.
firstly, how did you even attempt modeling? displacment? drag and extrude? i don't even see chamfers anywhere. To be quite honest, it looks like a 30 second job. watching those video tutorials will help you quite a bit when it comes to modeling maps, so i suggest you watch them, repeatedly, because you need to.
true, this is one of the worst maps i've ever seen in all my years (my april fools release with box that said LOL on the walls beats this by a mile), but, the good news is... you can throw this away, and start fresh.
consider those videos your baptism or conversion, and realize that what you had shown here is purely sinful, but all can be forgiven. model appropriately, and all shall be forgiven. deviate from this righteous path and thou shalt be smitten!!!

Not being rude or anything, but it needs work. But since I've never created a map, that thing is far better than anything I have done.
