I got this message in Halo 2 Vista.

So what do you think guys? Do you think a Halo 2 Vista update is coming soon? It better be.

Same message on 360. Rumor on xboxlive forums says its to update for Halo 3.

That's not windows live, it just says xbox. Anyways if this is for GFWL, I would prefer a fix for Halo 2 instead; live was already updated for pc.

Seems you've been stairing into the sun for too long
What the hell is it with you people? You say "OMFG fix this now stupid devs jeez :maddowns:" the you get pissed off when its not done when you feel it is. :fuckoff: and go play another game if it bothers you that much

It doesn't bother those with an unlocked geurilla now does it :3.

Nope
Because I'm talking about the game ;p. I want moar dedicated sever support but I know it won't happen over night if it does at all. Whos to say HG\Pi aren't slaving away on bugs we don't even know about because they were caught by them internally? Just stop being ignorant people, its annoying and fucking rude :|

Every time they've done a planned system maintenance for the Xbox Live Servers they've informed the public through some type of media channel, never have I seen a planned Xbox Live update without being informed in some shape or way.

Bum said we'd be getting a title update soon (not sure what soon means in the corporate world), so that's our best bet at seeing the fixes to the problems we've had.

Maybe compatibility for Xbox LIVE to connect with Windows LIVE. (cross platform game play may increase the sales of Halo 2 vista)
Although it is just a hunch.

I really doubt it, but if that were to become a feature, it would finally make Gold worth it. Maybe even enough to make server hosting free.

No I think it is for Verizon Fios users because they cant connect anywhere (360).:embarrassed:

The support for cross platform is there, but its up to the developer to implement it (how IDK). HG has already said that due to some design decisions that playing against H2X wouldn't be possible with H2V.

But the newer Havoc Physics stops after 8 people are on the server!:fail:
How much better is that? :saddowns:
The H2X physics are better than H2V physics in my opinion.

Why do you continue to talk like you know what you're talking about? The build of Havok is the EXACT same in both platforms (2.3). It would be Bungie's implementation of the Havok SDK that causes superbouncing.

no it doesn't...perhaps you should just get a better computer
The physics are the same for both platforms :|

OMG Korn it doesn't stop doing ragdolls for you after 8 people on the server? Wierd.
Kornman00
September 7th, 2007, 11:49 PM
If the physics stopped, then you wouldn't be playing the game now would you? I've never seen the ragdoll effects stop after 8+ players are in the game...

In H2v, after 8+ players enter the game, instead of regular ragdolls like in CSS, you get scripted death poses like in Halo 1.That's what I was talkin about when I said "Physics".

...what are you talking about?
They'll probably just fix some of the bugs that have have been reported since the game was released. Maybe tweak it so it performs a little better, but they aren't going to rewrite the entire game (Exaggeration for those of you who can't detect it =P) for an update...

Ummm, no. The 'death poses' in Halo 1 weren't scripted. I suggest you make a video of this as I get a feeling that you're basing this off of one instance where ragdoll affects weren't suppose to run.

Live sucks when its down.
LIVE sucks when it's up.

So, it's safe to conclude LIVE sucks altogether. :downs:
Kornman, by scripted he meant animated. I experience something the same, but with any amount of players. Instead of turning into a rag doll, it just falls to the ground and stays there in that pose, it looks similar to the first Halo. I think it's just a problem that occurs at random times or something.

Yeah thats what I meant. But for me it occurs everytime the server has more than 8 players on it.

The reason you can't play H2X with H2V users, is because they had to change the .map format significantly for the vista version so user-made maps weren't so fucking huge...and like korn said, it has nothing to do with a different physics engine >_>
As for live going down; the live community is huge (7 million last time I checked) and so perhaps this is just an update to better handle those numbers, who knows...

Are there even specific servers for specific games?.. anyway I think this very probably is halo3 related. Seeing as the game is so highly anticipated, perhaps they actually told us in such a way that live would be going down to build up even more hype.. :eyesroll:
and there adding an arcade slide
Yea...what?

Sure thing. Locked.
