Well, I just bought cabelas big game hunter 2005 adventures for like $10 because I loved the 2004 one..

I looked at the PC Requirements...

Minimum system Requirements
Processor - Intel Celeron/AMD Duron - class 700MHz
Windows98/Milenium(Me) - RAM 128Mb (including operating system memory)
Windows2000/XP - RAM 256 Mb (including operating system memory)
DirectX 8.1
GeForce - 256 (GeForce1) / ATI Radeon (32Mb video RAM) 3D harware accelerator
1.6 Gb uncompressed HDD space
CD-ROM speed 4x
Mouse and keyboard
And then compared to my specs...

Manufacturer: HP Pavilion 061
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.2GHz
Memory: 1534MB RAM
Hard Drive:
Video Card: VisionTek Radeon X1300 XGE
Monitor: HP mx705 CRT Monitor
Sound Card: Realtek AC97 Audio
Speakers/Headphones:
Keyboard: USB Root Hub
Mouse: USB Root Hub
Mouse Surface:
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519)
I tried looking under Support but no-one else seems to have gotten the error. I tried updating my drivers and am running DX 9.0c, or whatever, when it requires only DX 8. What happens when I start the game is the 2 intro videos play, as normally should be, and then once I try to skip the second one, or just let the second one fully play, I hear the sound of the menu but the screen is frozen in place either black or the frame when I tried to stop the intro cinematic from playing. I haven't tried letting it sit there, so I might do that.

Can anyone please help me? A good game such as this should be able to run on my computer..

Also, I'm not a redneck. I find this game pretty fun. :)

EDIT: Also, it never asked me to restart after I installed the game. I know it shouldn't ever need to restart, but maybe that could be the problem?

Not necessarily the install, but games like cnc red alert i have to edit the .exe's compatibility mode in its properties. but then again your game was meant to run on xp right? so it should work. That is unless you have vista, then theres your problem lol.

edi: oh crap nvm, i didn't read correctly. seems you can get the game to run but its fuxored up. It may have something to do with the color mode your running in, screen resolution etc...

if thats not it idk... srry

Nope, I've been on XP always and never would even think about switching to Vista.
