I need a good video editor, i was using Camstaisa but it poops on vista and I cannot export the video file to something useable. Its stuck at the .camrec file.
I do not want to use WMM because its for something that you need to edit just very quickly, not for effects or anything.
Thanks :)

I'm confused. Do you want a video editor or recorder?

Export to like mp4 or mpg if u can if not try avi or wmv. Most of those can import into Movie maker if thats what ur going to use. i would personal try to learn to use Adobe Premier or Sony Vegas, both amazing video editing programs!

Sony Vegas. It's not cheap, but it's awesome.

Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and After Effects CS3.
And what are you talking about, Camtasia works fine in Vista...

I refuse to use Adobe Premiere Pro, It pooped on me on xp and vista.(bad copy) and they wouldent refund my money or give me a new copy. Im going to see if i can scrape up some money for Sony Vegas Production.
(so far 20$ short)

Vegas is junk in comparison though. I'd rather figure out how to get Premiere and After Effects working on your computer.

Our Multimedia class uses all three, Vegas is what the Grade 10's use because they aren't allowed on the good computers with Premiere/After Effects... Anyhow, your money, your choice.

With After Effects you can make very cool effects (kinda logical huh?) AND edit you videos nice. Sony Vegas is more like a basic video editing program, some cool effects packed in though. <-- But that's what I use. I know next to nothing about Adobe Premieres so I won't talk about it.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=M5-uXHPemwo That's is a very good tutorial for beginners (lol I started making vids a month ago). The HD video link at QsK Global is broken so UTube or nothing. -_-

You use Adobe Premiere to do time line editing and basic transitions, you also add your sounds and stuff. You then open your video in After Effects to do actual video editing.

Vegas is really easy to use, and has a very small learning curve. Its not as advanced as after effects or final cut, but its just as good for professional quality video editing.
