1 year ago today I was able to see my family once again after nine long weeks of BCT.

1 year ago today I registered with h2vista.net and said hello once again to my internet pe (http://poplicks.com/images/peeps-dress.jpg)eps (http://www.somethingcomplicated.com/blog/2007-04-Peeps.jpg).


To celebrate today, I give you all beta releases of H2Kornman00 (http://kornnersoftware.com/yelo/halo2/vista/H2Kornman00Beta.rar) and H2Tool++ (http://kornnersoftware.com/yelo/halo2/vista/H2Tool++Beta.rar).


Remember I said beta.
The modified H2Guerilla is still limited in some areas, for various reasons (ie the tag is unstable, gui doesn't fully work, etc), but this should give you PLENTY of leeway for making the most of your maps with new effects and other goodies. I got the sound tag editor playing the sounds now, but it won't play the WMA encoded sounds so I'm trying to get that setup for the final.
The modified H2Tool doesn't visually appear to be changed from end-user eyes, but some changes where made to the way it build map files for a future feature\tool. It doesn't include anything that the final will have (importing physics, sounds, etc).

Many things still in the works, but this is just to give you a small taste of the future.

To "install", just place them where ever you have a tags folder. They should be self contained as long as you have previously installed the editing kit that came with the game.

Actually, I have it setup currently so that you have to access the downloads directly from h2vista.net, so you would have had to been linked to the first post to download it. So I was assuming people were downloading it from the original source :rolleyes:

That isn't a bug. The warthog and biped tags are stored in the shared.map file. You would have to rename the vehicle tag and use that; just like halo 1 :/.

I can't explore any of the cool stuff yet, but I will once I get my new heatsink.

im not at home where I was testing it, but I still remember quite afew bugs I ran into..
I couldnt open .model tags, only create new ones
I couldnt open as many tag types as I could create new, but I was able to cheat the system by draging those tag types to the program as a .exe (I realy wish I could just drag em into the guerilla window like HCE..)
some tag types like sound just wouldnt open, and wouldnt have a error.



(DETAILS ON .model: they are what holds the guns on vehicles.. it could even be used to latch a turret on MCs back lol, it also picks levels of detail and stuff, and vehicle collections use a discriptive name that interacts with the model to choose what turret to latch on, like the warthog has default, and gauss.. wraith has multiplayer, and idk the other one for SP)

anyways.. has anyone looked at the .biped tags? lol, you can give them BOOST lmao

thanks korn, its realy entertaining to look around, and alot of the new features seem to be preaty avalible to HCE use with a few scripts to mimic the parts that it use outside the tags that where coded to H2

I got it to work, I have to disable my anti-virus and any thing else that is running in the background (ps. Clss.exe or something DONT TERMINATE or get a BSOD) Great KM00, I got a Flying hog, Codebrain got a DuelWeild BR that shoots plazmas(well drops) and SMG that shoots rockets.

Bug report: I can't open ceratin tags at the same time - if I open a .scenario i have to close and reopen guerrilla to open a .scenario_structure_bsp.

This may because of my own experimenting - when I try to run tool (only tried lightmaps and build-cache-file) I get this error: "The system cannot find message text for message number 0x2336 in the message file for application."

you cant realy do that good a custom models in H2V last time I checked, so unless jahrain has a beter converter, you'll be left with vehicle mods, like mb attach 30 turrets to a warthog in the .model file lol

I would like to see it, because when i make a Warthog mod to just change it to look like a shee or a shee to look like a hog it wont show up in the Halo 2 Custom maps, but shows in h2sapian.exe
You need to change all the directories just like in halo 1. Only for halo 2 the warthog's tags are in the shared map file along with all the other vehicles.
