When I'm done my homework, I'll post a few simple images demonstrating the steps I'd take to make those features. I use Maya, but the concept is exactly the same and will work with 3ds max as well.

You can't learn how to model good by watching a tutorial. You learn by practicing. You can watch 1000 videos but still lack the talent. It just like a sport, you might know all the rules to football and every play, but could you really be put out on the varsity squad and play for the AAAA state title? Practice those. make a bunch of rails, door or barriers. I guarantee you will not be good after just watching a tutorial.

Not neccassarily. I went through a big jump in modelling once I watched a certain tutorial. I still watch tutorials from time to time now just to find new techniques.

That was sorta harsh imo.. i mean he isnt a good modeler really, but i mean, learning how to use new techniques, or just figuring out how to do things, you might not pick up fast on your own. but having someone explain to you how to do things, how they work and why you should use them, will improve your modeling skills. It takes time yea, but with an idea of what to actually do, and practice, then you'll get it.

Rails are easy with instance geometry, just use cylinders and extrude the ends into little curves if you're looking for that sort of look. I don't know what you mean by barriers, there's lots of things that could mean, so I'm just gonna do these:

That's good Con, but I think he wants stuff that's a little more advanced, basically he wants to know how to add more detail I think. I can give you a tip, go look at a bunch of architecture. Just look at it. You'll start to notice artistic detail that make things just look nice. Here, I have the perfect site for looking at that kind of stuff. Also, if you already know what you want to make and are having trouble knowing how to create it, then you need to be more specific so someone can help you out, rather then just say rails and doorways. You haven't mentioned any style or look you're going for, and you can't expect us to know that.

Thanks Conscars, and yes i want some more also mainly my problem is the lack of 3ds knowlage. How would I create a edge?

That is mainly my problem, Lack of 3ds max knowlage, and lack of time for 3dsmax to fuck up my textures but that just takes time so im fine on that note :D

Cut

hit Cut, click on a neighbouring vert, then click on the one part of the edge where you want your "neew edge" to begin, and end again bu clicking a neighbouring vert.

(starting and ending at verts prevents you making bad geometry)

if you haven't yet, i strongly suggest you do the ENTIRE modelling part from the HEK tutorial, it teaches all the basics you need to know really.
