so, i install h2v and then start it up and go to video options (wanting to put graphics at max!) and the maximum the res would go to was 1024x800 which isnt right as my screen is 1440x900 can you help me out
btw when i put it in windowed mode it gives all the resoultions but i get very bad fps.
also there is no ratio aspect on the video options.

H2V does not support WXGA (1280x800 and 1440x900) resolutions. The closest you can get (widescreen) is 1280x720. It's really stupid since 1440x900 is such a common widescreen res (but Hired Gun made a shitty port, so...)

Also, post your specs. If your video card is not good, you won't get good framerates at high settings. Personally, I think high settings are not worth it since the game looks just as good as the Xbox version on low or medium settings, and on high settings, the game only looks a little bit better yet slices your framerate in half.

You should be playing on medium at about 15 FPS. And considering the game looks more like a DX8 game, it really is a ripoff.

Hmm, your video card is a laptop version of my desktop video card (7600 GT), and I run at 1680x1050 on low settings with 50fps average. I only have a gig of RAM and your CPU is much faster than mine (athlon x2 3800+)...so your framerates should be as good as mine or better.

The Geforce 7600 chip is a powerful midrange class and performs very well so you should have no problem.

My laptop is a single core Pentium M 770 (2.13Ghz), 2 GB ram, and a Geforce Go 6600...it runs at 1280x720 on high with 30 fps.

Like I said, run at low or medium settings, high settings really aren't worth it on a game like H2V which doesn't even use DX9 yet requires it to run at all.

h2v runs fine on highest with, 4 samples and 1024x800 (ive even tryed it at 1900x1000 on windowed with no lag, but this is straying from my question have you any idea how to solve my original question, i have a feeling that it might be to do with there being no aspect ratio on the video menu can you pls direct me? (noobish question)

Whoops sorry, if I recall correctly you can adjust the aspect ratio from the nvidia control panel.

Wait that doesn't even make sense... even assuming he did get 15 fps on medium... wouldn't he just want to turn it down to low to improve his framerate <_<

I couldn't find an aspect ratio adjustment, sorry. Try re-installing the game (using the install, then don't play option). The only adjustment I can find is the resolution selection menu.
