I think its very probable due to how many galaxies there are o_O it would seem entirely unlikely that we are the only ones.

(I miss spelled Create....shit)

Most likely Aliens do exist, but not what you'd expect them to be. (IE: round head, green skin, etc) See the movie Contact. Very scientific movie, one of the quotes Ellie's father says is that "If we, human beings are the only life form in the universe, that's one waste of space" or something like that.

Vote options are a little... extreme?

It's possible, and it's fairly likely. We just haven't found any yet.

its very likley but its not a fact for sure
and btw if the bottom vote is true then only humans live on this planet, no animals, flora, ect

Do I believe in LIFE on other planets? Of course. I mean, there has to be some sort of living vegetation, animal life, insectoids, etc.

Whether or not I believe that there are HUMANS somewhere out there.... well, I'm not sure. And I surely don't believe in the green-skinned, Hollywood created "aliens."

That bottom vote is just a joke =p as for HUMANS on other plannets...i dont know about that but its very likely that there are far more intelligent beings somewhere.

Aliens? Of course, I've got one mowing my grass outside.

But seriously, yes, I believe there's got to be extra terrestrials out there that are intelligent. Anyone who believes otherwise is just being naive.

I think it's likely, theres so much space out there, there has to be.

^ agreed, although I just want to add that people tend to assume way too much about extra-terrestrials. Forget assuming upright bodies with 4 limbs and a head- even talking about what kind of DNA they might have is completely wrong, IMO. Who's to say they'll use dna? Who's to say they'll even be cellular with a molecule encoding their entire structure? Extra-terrestrial forms of life will most likely require a complete rethinking of biology to understand.

Come to think of it, though, the universe is so mind bogglingly huge that there's bound to be more than a few that are very similar to us.

edit: oh lol also who voted for God?

oh and one more thing- arguing that there's so much space out there is kind of technically wrong- I'm sure what we all mean to say when we say so much space is so much matter occupying so much space. =P lol technicalities.

edit edit: oh yeah lol I voted for "very likely" but not "it is a fact" because, well, how the fuck do we know for sure until we find them or evidence of them?
ooh! let's start a UFO thread! lol.

The universe is too big to not have aliens.

The building blocks for life really aren't that hard to make, setting it in motion is a different story. But with all the planets out there, and the fact that there are even a few moons in our system capable of supporting life (europa), then the chances of there being no life anywhere else, is pretty slim.

Oh man, The Cheat. This is gonna be bro-awesome. This thing's gonna shoot all the way up to Europa, and bring us back a couple of Europa-pean lobsters to grill up!

Life on other planets? Its possible within our own solar system outside earth. Its highly unlikely for it to not occur anywhere else in this universe. But intelligent life on other planets? Thats the question. We have a hard time finding intelligent life on our own planet.

I would say there is a high possibly of there being lifeforms out there. However, they are not going to be like those stupid stories of UFOs coming around, taking people, researching them, bringing them back, and the people not remembering a darn thing. I don't even believe in that at all.

Or maybe we're just so arrogant we can't see that the other species on Earth have a far more enlightened philosophy of life than we do.

If the universe is really infinite, then yes, there is most certainly a 100% chance of life on other plants. I doubt very much that there isn't something alive (besides things originating from Earth) in our galaxy even.

I hate thinking about the universe, it reminds me of how small and unimportant the human race is.

I mean when you think about it all we are is just a zit on an ass the size of God's.

Yeah, philosophically I always come back to how ultimately the net effect of life is that it will just speed up entropic decay and with it, the end of the universe. But I still always look on the bright side of life: it's better than nothing. ;)
[really ot] man, I just love to go off topic lately, don't I?[/really ot]
