Find me a good flat panel HDTV for around $500 (or less). LCD or plasma, doesn't really matter, though LCD would be nicer. The bigger the better, just make sure that it isn't crappy. The number one thing I don't want (aside from a crappy picture) is for the picture and sound to not be in sync (this was a problem on one Westinghouse 32" LCD TV we got).

Try this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2102640411+138902005+4020&name=%24400+-+%24500) page of about 10 different ones. But you probably wont want them, cause it says they are recertified.

What does that mean?

Goods that have been returned on a money back guarantee, had a damaged box, demo units, etc.

So are they still good? Cause my dad is thinking about buying a cheap 32" flat panel tv, like the ones on that page.

Another thing Mr. Fap might want is no off-center distortion (yucky colors when not on the proper X axis.

No doubt eBay will have something for a cheap price.

Sure it may be cheap, but this (http://www.geekologie.com/2007/05/how_not_to_ship_a_plasma_tv.php) is why you don't want to buy a flatpanel tv on EBay.
