View Full Version : Unusual error in the structure stage of tool

Recently, I came across an error which stopped my structure command and it was one that did not generate a .wrl file to error-correct from. The error read:

building intermediate geometry...

EXCEPTION halt in ./intermediate_geometry.c,#444: triangle->material_index>=0 && triangle->material_index<old_material_count

I would appreciate any advice on how to proceed in correcting this error.

Some of the triangles on your mesh don't have a material ID assigned to them, or the materials are set up wrong.

To fix this, re-apply the multimaterial to your object. Then go into face select mode and select all faces. Change the MatID of the faces to 1, and export. If that fixes it, then go back in and reapply the correct MatIDs to the places on your mesh where they need to be.

I apologize for this grave error and wasting the time of other members of this forum. I will not make excuses for my inability to search forums and I promise to make greater efforts to browse forums before posting a new thread. However, I do appreciate the input I did receive and hope the community will forgive this transgression and continue to help me if it is so required.
