I want to get my sister a low to mid range PCI graphics card for Christmas, after trying to play games on her PC I don't know how she tolerates it. I also want it to be DX9. I'm thinking of going with this one, thoughts?

What is wrong with ATI? Why is everyone :bandwagon: against ATI? It makes decent cards too! Cmon I own an ATI, and it works ok!

Although, im looking to buy that 8600GT. It is the best card 100 dollars can get you:D

I find nothing wrong with ATI, but Nvidia, being the first to introduce DX10 cards, has gained more publicity recently.

I've converted to ATI and I'm staying ATI...unless I'm offered Nvidia stuff for free, then I'll stick Nvidia during that time period =D

I could send you this ol' Nvidia fx5200 for free (as long as you pay s+h, so much for being free), but that's pretty damn low-end. So yea, the ATI x1300 is the best.

If you see a 7300/1300 in your price range, grab it. From my perspective, it's all bad; meaning there's little to no difference.

I currently have a geForce 7300 LE, it works well for light gaming, I really need to upgrade :p

Looks like you could get one for dirt cheap, too (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&Description=7300%20LE&bop=And&Order=PRICE).

Clarify what you mean by "PCI", because the x1300 is not at all PCI (unless I'm mistaken, but I can't seem to find one anywhere. Lots of PCI-e choices though)
It would seem like you've got a pretty good choice made already as nVidia stopped making PCI graphics cards right before the 7 series, and ATI's were never that good (the best I can find is Radeon 9250, which isn't even DX 9, it's DX 8)
I'd actually take Syuusuke up on his offer for the free 5200. I've used one, and it's fairly nice. Not fast at all, but it's SM 2 compliant, which is way more than I can say for the ATI 9250.

Wrong, it comes in both.

I'd love to get an x1300 but my price range is pretty limited at the moment D:

Xetsuei™;184522']Wrong, it comes in both.
Show me, I went through pages of results and couldn't find a single PCI one.
I did see an AGP one though...

EDIT: Wait, found one. That's pretty interesting. Didn't think anyone made a card for all three interfaces...

Regardless, he said low end, and the x1300 is not low end. Even if it is PCI.

As long as you can get Halo CE, I would just stick with what you have.

An upgrade to a PCI card isn't much of an upgrade.

If you are strapped for cash, then don't waste money on an overpriced PCI card (idk about now, but PCI versions usually are more expensive and don't work as well :().

What the fuck are you talking about. Damn yes the X1300 is low end, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATI_Radeon#Product_naming_scheme.
