So, I just installed my new 8800GT, I assume that has something to do with this, because Messenger has never done this before. It seems to enjoy quitting when I try to open a message window. I can't figure out why, it just does. No error message, no "problem encountered" thing at all. It just quits. What the hell?

Ignore Tweek as his daddy has been hitting him.
Have you tried the standard uninstall/reinstall/driver thing yet? Because other than that, the only thing I can think of is somehow the card hates you.

Simple. Switch to AIM. That's the only solution that I can think of.

Or use Trillian, it has AIM/MSN (LIVE as you may know of), IRC and more =)

I tried the reinstall thing, but what's this about drivers? I updated my card's drivers to the latest version. Also, I have Trillian, but I prefer to use Messenger for my messenger contacts, due to features. It wouldn't be so bad if I just used Trillian for it, but I'd prefer it if I could use Messenger. I am not on Vista.

The fact that you aren't on Vista might be an issue for the 8800GT card, although I am no expert by any stretch of thought.
