Well after months of research and looking around, I've pretty much narrowed my search down to a few different types of builds and parts. This one being my number one pick. After I get these parts I'm buying my 24 Inch LCD Display. This will last me until I start college in a year and a half. So Help me revise my list and things please?

dont spend your money on the 640mb GTS, its gonna go down in price soon. Also, you have a floppy drive on your shopping list but your case has no ports for one. It doesnt have a side fan either. Also, dont get that processor. Get this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115028

also, lol at the tool kit and thermal paste. the paste will come in handy LATER if you screw up the pre-applied thermal paste or if you wanna do something stupid, and all you really need to build a computer is a demagnetized screwdriver, philips head--and something to ground yourself so you dont blow out your computer. If you're gonna get tools, get real tools that will last you a lifetime. Head over to sears, dear friend!

Also if you have eSATA ports on your mobo i reccomend getting a smaller HDD and getting a nice big external, it really saves your computer in the long run.

I got tools, but I didn't have a wrist strap and it was only 14 dollars so i figure hey why not. As for the processor, I'm using it for rendering so I wanted 4 cores. I was going to either get water cooling or a HS&F for the cpu, just forgot to add it to the list.

The Gfx card issue, I hear you on that, I was thinking of getting the new GTS supposedly hitting the market the eleventh.

And thanks for the tip on the sata and smaller HDD. :D

My case comes with 5 1/2 slot to 3 1/4 converters. Thats where my Floppy will go. It has 4 side fans in the case, and several around it. Just hidden. Or maybe i forgot to select the CM Stacker 832? -_-

phew, alrighty. But if you're getting it just for the wrist strap, dont waste your money. If theres anywhere with a wooden floor in your house, set up a table or whatever there and then put on some surgical gloves. Its rubber, it doesnt conduct, and you dont have to worry about the cable getting in the way.

EDIT: man, i thought the g96 8800GTS came out today. You might wanna look into that.

I did too, but I read somewhere it was delayed til the eleventh.

I wouldn't get one of those. Just go for an 8800gt. You will regret that g80 gts in a few months.

Oh, and you can use a 3.5in insert for a floppy drive.

Oh and wol, I would never in a hundred years get an e6850 unless i wanted to set some oc'ing records.

Its Q6600 vs E6750 .)

Why would he get the 8800GT if the new g92 8800GTS is better?:eyesroll:

Maybe you want to buy these for RAM?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227261

There is another cheaper one...

----
I noticed that the rebate for your initial RAM you have is almost over.

The one you linked me too had cas latency of 3, the cheaper one for 76 is rated better even though its cas latency is 4. But I'm going to oc it a bit so it doesnt matter that I go with the cheaper one anyway. :] But nice find man :] Thanks!

Well in terms of the processors, it depends on what you want to do with it. I do believe the E6750 is faster than the Q6600, and I'm not just talking about clock speed. I don't know of many programs atm that make use of multiple cores, so for gaming I think you'd probably be a bit better off (for now) with the E6750. But if you like multitasking and all that jazz, or if you're holding out for later when more games assuredly will take full advantage of multiple cores, I says go with the Q6600.

Edit: >=U your setup will be slightly better than mine!
Sigh, these things go out of date so quickly. /cry

ee: heh, I still got multiple monitors (one of them 24") - I highly recommend it if you're into that multitasking stuff. Greatly improves your efficiency. Don't do didly-squat for gaming tho.

^^ I was thinking of one 24 inch for center then two 17's on the sides of it. 3 monitors in total. I already got one 17 inch. But I'm buying those once i save up again. *3-4 months*

must... buy... more... monitors.

Lol, wait, so I assume you're going with SLI if you plan on having 3 monitors?
Onoes, when did I become so competitive about my computer specs? I have a mid-range gaming PC. I don't need to strut it around and try to be the best always. GTFO, Rob!

Wait like a month or so for mainstream Penryn based 45 nm CPUs to come out. They will be faster and will run cooler and at the same time prices on the current line up will drop.

I'm not sure if this is still the case or not, but I think that you can only use one monitor while using SLI. Not positive, but you might want to check that out if you ever plan on doing SLI or multimon.

I was gonna hook one of the 17's to my 360 ;D Then the other two for my pc. That way I don't have to turn around every 5 mins to check what im doing on the pc.

Edit- But thats only if I have the money. Cause I'm only 16 with a part time job..

Wow, the 8800s (GTS and GTX) droped down about $50 since I last checked.

Not bad, I have a Q6600. It preforms above expectations. I mad though that the Q6800 came out shortly after I bought it, I would have gone with it instead.
