I played duke 3D when I was a kid, and though I didn't get half the references ( :-3 ), it was still badass (loved some of the guns like the freeze and shrink ray).

All I can say is it better have more than just run around and shoot aliens- the only way I'm going to be interested in this game is if it's like the original Duke 3D, that is, if it offers much more interaction than all the other games. And these days that's gonna be tough to do, especially with a game that was started in the friggin nineties. I've got plenty of bubble gum, and the only way I'll run out is if it falls out of my mouth if this game makes my jaw drop. Bad pun/metaphor, but still so true.

-Faek.
-Ported to Source engine without changing Damage direction/Weapon selection HUD elements much.
-Source mod done to make the appearance something's getting done.
-Source mod someone else has made/is making stolen to give the impression of progress.

Of course, it could be that this guy works for 3D Realms and is just doing this to get our hopes up.

So, why is everybody saying that the video is fake? Source mod? What the fuck are you guys on. If anything it looks just closer to Prey then anything in the Source engine. Just because it has a similar UI set up (which is also present in many other games, it's not Valve exclusive) doesn't mean it's fake. The feature creep is fairly obvious but the lighting/normal mapping suggests the Unreal Engine. L2Game Engine noobs.

IMO, the developers haven't been working on DNF for 10 years. They worked on some other games and then in the last couple of years they started working on the real DNF. That is, unless this one gets delayed so long that they start over again...
