I'm considering a Zune 80GB for myself for Christmas.
Anyone have one? Comments? Concerns? Anything? My main concern is the software, which everyone tells me is garbage, anyone care to chime in on that subject?
Thanks!

I've heard good things about it, but I don't have one.

Read up about the DRM and just what you can store on it first. Make up your mind from there.

I've had mine for about a week, and I love the thing. The headphones that come with it dampen the outside noise and have great sound quality. I don't really care about the software too much so I don't have any complaints about it. I watched Rush Hour 1,2,3, and some pornos other movies on the plane to Italy and didn't even hear the baby a few seats behind me crying.

The Zune's pretty awesome, I was originally going to get it for Christmas, but then my friend showed me the cool stuff about the Ipod Touch and my music library is less than 1GB anyway, so I decided on the Ipod touch instead. I'll see if my parents got meh the thing tomorrow. :)
And isn't it a little late to be Christmas shooping? :p

I've had no problems with mine. I'd recommend it.

I got it for Christmas and I like it a lot, nice screen. However the software on the computer is a little bit of a pain, but once you set everything up its not bad.

i got a 10 GB mp3player for 20 euros a week ago for myself for christmas.
dont see HOW anyone could use over 10 gb for music.
i like my mp3 player like lik like my phone.
it's just a phone. not a computer/camera/camcorder/dvdplayer/multimediacenter/atomated car-repair tool/electronic wallet.
my mp3 player is a mp3 player. not a movieplayer/camera/multimediacenter/portable myspace/ WHATEVER THE FUCK!
fuck you.

I have 14 GB of music :/
There is definitely a market for large capacity music players.

Zunes are awesome! I'm getting one in mid '08.
I have a 1GB Creative Zen, and i don't even use all of that 1GB.
Because i have smallish play lists i enjoy on iTunes, so when i go out, i just put that music on and make a play list for it. I clear all old music pretty regularly. Because i feel some is over played. 1GB is all i need for my music, even though i have nearly 90GB of music on my PC.
Zune ftw!

Yeah, I just got the 8GB Touch for Christmas, and it regularly administers supreme doses of ownage upon me, since I jailbroke it. It is freaking awesome.

Ipod touch is the sex for being an apple product, but it barely has enough memory to store my songs and pictures I like to show to people.
30GB touch plz apple.

Depends on how much storage you use for music/videos. I have less than 200 MB of music but about 6 GB of videos, so I might buy an iPod touch soon. The iPod touch wins because of its large widescreen display. Also, I played with my friend's iPod touch at school, and there are many games that take advantage of its built-in accelerometer (i.e. a maze game that requires you to tilt the iPod to move the character).
The Zune is cool, but its smaller screen may be a limiting factor.
Of course, if you want the ultimate all-in-one portable music/video player, grab one of those PMCs (if you've got the cash that is).

Hey you could always get a Samsung P2 for Video. I love mine. Though it only has 8GB so you may want to get an Ipod Touch if you have more than that, or just get a Zune or Ipod if your just using it for Music.

Get a Zune if you can handle computer problems with the software. I had to disassemble/debug the program myself to find a problem I fixed.
Example (http://forums.zune.net/67223/ShowPost.aspx)
After the new update they only did shit with it to be quite honest but there are new updates to come in the future.
I love mine and use it 24/7. No problems at all with the device itself.

For some reason I can't link my Zune to my Live tag thing...Don't need to anyway.
The software is just different from WMP (and the last Zune version of the software...which was a variant of WMP10). I haven't had problems with it, just carefully look at your settings and double check them.

I have an ipod touch and love the thing to death.
How can you go wrong with an mp3 player with a NES, GBA, and PS1 emulator on it?

You just said it; it's an MP3 player not a game console.
I'd rather have Wifi capabilities than the ability to play Pokemon.

No. I have an Ipod 30 gig and my sister has a zune 30 gig, and the Ipod will win out any day.
why?
Zune software<iTunes
and the zune store has very few albums, and you will get bootlegs that dont exist in your serch.

All Ipods except Touch < Zune < Ipod Touch.
The touch is completely friggin awesome. It has Wifi BTW patrick, I have no idea why you thought it didn't. And while it is an MP3 player, yes, it's also a console :D At least for me.

What does the wifi on the zune let you do? I remember on the old one it will delete your music if after 3 days or you play it 3 times only if you transfer it via wifi, meaning you must use a wire to transfer songs anyways if you want to keep the music. wtf lol.

You can sync your Zune to your computer via the Wifi, which basically means getting the newest podcasts, music information, picture/movies without attaching your Zune to your computer.

Though (I'm not too sure after the latest firmware) it's pretty slow compared to as if you connected it via USB.

Well what do you expect...this little 300mhz device that has a buffer big enough to load 2 songs is probably not going to sync that fast xD
(I pulled those numbers out of my ass btw)
But hey it's enough and it's defiantly something you can build on. You can share photos and movies with your friends without restriction and I think jahrain, they changed the 3 play/day thing a bit around. Can't exactly remember what though. :)

They removed the 3days...now it's only 3 plays.

So you listen to it 2 times, then go home and rip it off the HDD? Genius.
