I've got a 500gb western digital premium es edition external hard drive, and it no longer works.. Its not in my computer, but it shows up in the device manager. At first it would be detected in my computer after a few restarts, it would then lag the hell out of my computer. I couldn't do anything until it was turned off. But now its just detected in the device manager but not in my computer. I have some files I want to get off of it, but now I can't. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this? I also tried it on my sister's computer, same problem.
EDIT: The safely remove hardware icon is there and It says USB mass storage device there. It does not show up in the disk manager. I also tried uninstalling it in the device manager, then reinstalling it... still does not show up in my computer.

What is the drive formatted in? Reformat it if you have to. Make sure its NTFS not FAT32, it fragments less. Is that an e-sata or USB drive?

Its formatted in FAT32, It can use both usb and E-sata but I use usb. I'd rather not reformat it and lose 80gb of data then still have the problem. I might do that as a last resort. Also I don't know if this has anything to do with it but in the device mananger, my SCSI/RAID host controller says windows cannot load the device drivers.
Edit: I guess no one here knows how to fix this... I'm gonna try and reformat it.
