This thread is a simple information extraction for my Halo Launcher application that I'm working on. The simple question that i have asked is which Tools do you use the most? In the poll above, I have divide the most commonly used tool sets according to their purposes.

Level Compiling

Tool Set Includes:

Structure/bsp compiling (...\tool structure <level's source folder> <name of .jms file>)

Bitmaps (...\tool bitmaps <bitmap source directory>

Lighting (...\tool lightmaps <.scenaio tag's directory> <.scenario tag's name> <lighting quality> <threshold>)

Cache (...\tool build-cache-file <scenario directory> <scenario's name>)

Asset Compiling

Tool Set Includes:

Bitmaps (...\tool bitmaps <bitmap source directory>

Models (...\tool models <model directory>)

Animations (...\tool animations <animations directory>)

physics (...\tool physics <physics directory>)

Improving upon tool++? How about some project tracking functionality? Say, you load your app, and load your last project, and it presents a checklist, showing what's done and whats unfinished. You could also have it launch photoshop or gimp, for creating alpha or whatever. And how about some kinda built in GrabListener, for gmax users, that'll wait for output and automatically saves to the relevant folder? And a bag of chips, please, or fries with that, thanks :)
- oh, also, jms analysis to create default shaders in their appropriate folder, with linkaging to bitmaps. And a pony

i tried that, but it wouldn't work 1 tab would be fully functional, while the others would only look pretty (and not work at all).

i appreaciate the input, but sarcasm isn't really necesary (a pony?). i'll add ps/gimp and 3dsmax/maya/gmax/blender buttons and the rest will come in good time (have no idea how to open up model code and do grab listeners/auto saving log files yet). as for project checklists, that's do-able.

looks like i have a ways to go :fail:

The materials are listed in a certain format near the beginning of the jms, so finding the material info should be pretty simple

Even if you can't build in a grab listener, a grablistener launching button would be nice too

I wasn't trying to be sarcastic, I was just being silly, cause I was postin when I shoulda been sleepin
