well i wanted to make a model in tool so i tried and failed i asked my friend he sent me a pic of what his looked like and it worked for him but i tried it and it said it failed so im like wtf!! is it vista or what and i cant make bitmaps structures bsp's levels collisions or anything. plz help.

It would help if you showed us what tool gives to you when you try compiling stuff.

Couldn't read map file './toolbeta.map'
i think its because of the .jms cause my 3ds max wont export it so i had to use chimp. cause blitz always gives me an error.
this is what it highlights when i get the error
append face_shader_index ((findItem geom_materials geometry_objects[g].material[face_matID[f]]) - 1)

gunna take a wild guess and say you fucked up the material or are lacking a material on the model. :|
also that's not an error, that's tool telling you you're doing it wrong. command prompt need to be in the halo custom edition directory and you need to properly type the compile command.

yeah now i have material and stuff and the bitmap compiled and i made a shader for that bitmap now when i try to compile the model it says i have no shader and press 1-9 and theres a list of types of shaders i pick the shader i have for it and tool closes.

That's because you need the shader tag to exist as well as be referenced by your material. Also, it's kind of hard to read what you're saying, some better grammar and use of punctuation would be nice.

it has nothing to do with vista i can guarantee that.

if it's vista, use elevated priviladges.
right click on cmd, click run as administrator, say yes to UAC
everything should be working fine after that (otherwise, it's something that you did)
