Hey guys, occasionally when i'm listening to music/watching a video/playing games my some suddenly turns from perfect to nothing loud crackling with a faint resemblance to what it's supposed to be (can barely hear lyrics with music, etc). However it sounds normal when I speak into my microphone. Sometimes it'll fix with a restart of the program or if I wait a few minutes, sometimes i'll have to restart the computer to get it to work again. Any ideas? It's a Creative Audigy 2 ZS, running Vista (iirc this didn't happen in XP, although I could be wrong).

Have you installed the latest drivers? That fixed my crackling problem.

Apparently so - although the date shown on the creative site (March '07) for the driver isn't the same as the one shown on the drivers page on my computer (Feb '07), which is weird. But since it's in a bundle for several drivers, it makes sense.

I'd recommend going to the wobsite and downloading just the driver for your sound card.
Creative is a pain when looking for drivers, and mis-labeled a few of them, or at least the one I have. I had to open my case and find the serial number on my card.

Well I found the serial number on the side of my card, looked it up and got this:
You have searched for SBAXVSD_PCDRV_LB_2_12_0002.exe.
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e37'
Invalid object name 'db_wwSQL_new..tb_Product'.
/classes/connection/connection.asp, line 15
...
Although the name of the exe matches the one that I downloaded earlier which is what I already had >_<

Do you have an XP partition or machine nearby that you can test the sound card on?

Unfortunately not, plus it might not happen for a week then happen 3 times in one day. Oh well. I'll see if this driver I just installed (or re-installed) holds out, but i'm not getting my hopes up. But thanks for the help man, much appreciated :-D
