Can someone show me a diagnostic tool or something so i can figure out what exactly is blocking/fire walling halo. I really want to host games but i cant because something keeps blocking it.

Ive opened 2301 through 2304
and ive opened up 28900 and 27900

is it your router? turn off your fire wall when in halo and see if it works. if it doesn't than it's your router...i think unless you have multiple fire walls or bockers.

Have you heard of router port forwarding? Basically, it's telling your router to allow ALL traffic through certain ports in your router. It's like having two firewalls... It IS having two firewalls... you might unblock in one, but if the other is still blocking, you need to kill that too...

What router do you have?

Foward ports 2302 and 2303 on both udp and tcp to your local ip and it should work :D

Okay, what you need to do is right click on whatever network icon is active in the system tray. (either the wired or wireless icon) Then click statustab-->details button-->and type the default gateway address into your browser bar, this will take you to your ROUTER's control panel, look for a firewall tab or something, go in there and forward those ports.

Just checking here, have you opened up 80? You didn't mention if you did or not.

He wouldn't be posting here if that was the case...

And all port 80 is used for on Halo is getting the MOTD (and server list?).

I think halo just hates certain kinds of firewalls. I have a similar problem, but I just gave up on hosting games.

I want to clarify real quick. I cant host games with OR WITHOUT a router hooked up. so i know that theres something wrong with my computer thats blocking halo. I may have changed a setting or something and what im looking for is some diagnostic tools to help me find the problem.

THAT IS WHAT I NEED.
