ok well, a few days ago, i was playing my xbox 360 on halo 3 , making a map on Ghost Town in forge, then the video starts spazzing out. Like the normal colours start getting like tinted blue and shit, so i turned my xbox 360 off thinking i had it on to long or something but it gets worse. 2 days later i turn it on again and there is absolutely no video at all. I can hear all the sounds when i move the controls and shit but no video. When i have my TV on before i turn on my 360 the screen is blue, and when i turn my xbox on usually it just works normally, but now the screen is staying blue and i cant do anything whatso ever. its driving me insane, ive had it for 2 and a half years and didnt have a single issue. My dad got it for me for my birthday a while back and he didnt get the insurence.. So yeah im kinda stuck here...
THINGS I TRIED TO FIX IT WITH
- Got a new cable that goes from the xbox to the television, still no go
- Tried a different TV, still no go
- My xbox 360 is normally on High Def (1080 p i believe) but putting it on normal AV video didnt do anything either.
i googled this for about 2 hours and couldent find anyone with the similar problem, except for one who just had the little switch on the AV cord stuck on the middle, which isnt the problem for me.
Help is greatly appreciated!!

damnit. another thing that annoys me is that i have no idea how to come up with 250$ for a new console, i dont have a job, and i just took care of my mom's house yard to get a 300 dollar cell phone, and theres some games i really want to get..

What I'd give to get 300 dollars to take care of my parents' yard. D:
You really don't have any other choice, though. :\
Also, I'm pretty sure that, no matter what, if you have the old version of the 360, you get a 3 year warranty because all the RROD issues. I'd check into that before buying a replacement.

Are you using an old model (before the new heatsinks)? If so, overheating may have warped up the graphics chip and effectively killed the console's game-playing ability.
You have a 3-year warranty - use it, or if you're brave, open up your console and see if you can fix it (Llama has many tutorials...). I recommend the former option :P.
And yes, this Microsoft product's reliability is almost as bad as the reliability of those bootlegged fake Chinese electronics (copycats of major brands).
The only trouble with the warranty thing is that you never know when your console will come back. It will come back, but the wait can be frustrating.
edit: Sorry, you posted before I could, and I didn't see it. So it's a newer one? Obviously still an overheating problem. The problem with the X360 is that it packs components comparable to those of high-end PCs in a compact case (compact relative to a desktop PC case, that is), without adequate cooling. As a result, overheating is the number one X360-killer.

Well, if you open up the console, you break the 3 year warranty.

dont open it. if it's under warranty take the safe option and send it straight back. If you open it up you will not be able to get it replaced.
unless you know exactly what your doing and how to fix do not touch it.

No clue here, but you may want to try the xbox website. (http://www.xbox.com)

Mine did the EXACT SAME THING, except I was on blackout. All the colors were fucked up, until it stopped working. However, mine actually gave me an error code instead of not showing anything.
I'd try your hardest to see if MS will fix it. I sent mine in probably a week ago, and I just learned today it was already fixed and on its way back. Their returning is getting EXTREMELY fast. First xbox that died took me ~2 months to get back. This one will be 2 weeks.

You gotta call 1-800-4MyXbox and be prepared for
a) you getting extremely pissed
-or-
b) you get epic lulz
Basically they will make you feel retarded by asking if all the cords are plugged in, youre pressing the on button, your TV is on, your electric is on, etc. Depending on your personality, you will either laugh at their stupidity (although they are just following what they have to do.) or be pissed at their redundancy. Then when they finally realize that no shit, its broken, you give them all your info and they will send you a box that has everything in it that you need to send it to them (free shipping) along with a tracking number to track it.

Just out of curiosity, how frequently do you (all the people with fried boxes) use your box, and for how long?

If you kept the documentation to your XBox (which you damn well should have, always hold onto the manuals and shit), check the Warranty Information booklet.

The warranty information changes anyhow. Shit gets updated brother.
